To my fellow Veterans—

Today, I’m reminded of the honor, courage, and commitment that define every man and woman who has raised their right hand in service to this nation. We came from different places, different backgrounds, and different stories—but we shared one purpose: to protect America’s freedom and the people who depend on it.

We know the sacrifices that never make headlines—the long nights, missed milestones, demanding deployments, and the quiet weight we carried so others didn’t have to. We endured hardship, uncertainty, and challenge not because it was easy, but because it was necessary. And we did it with integrity and a sense of duty that remains unmatched.

I also honor the camaraderie we shared—the steady presence of the person on your left and right. That bond, forged through adversity and purpose, lasts long after the uniform comes off. In

To those who stood watch, who served in harm’s way, who supported missions far from home, and who kept our brothers and sisters safe—thank you. Your service is more than time in uniform. It is a lifetime commitment to something greater than yourself. Thank you for your example, your resilience, and your continued service to others in every chapter of your lives. Our nation stands stronger because of you.

Happy Veterans Day.
With respect and gratitude—thank you for your service.

Heading home from Boston thinking of what might have been. Proud of toughing out an ok run time (but not gun time). Wasn’t sure I was going to be able to walk/jog from about mile 9. But I resisted a med tent call. I drew strength and determination from some Marines in Framingham and the memory of a great running friend, gritted my teeth for 17 miles, and got it done. Garmin clocked me at 3:23 running time over the course (official results are a bit slower due to the injury stop). Even managed to do the last mile back on 6:46 pace, which was the goal. Already plotting a return next year to bang out that sub 3:00. Boston, you have challenged me. I accept.

It has been almost 2 years since I was able to photograph a She Tris event in person. The awesome ladies of She Tris did not disappoint at today's She Tris Hamlin triathlon in Mt. Pleasant. The atmosphere, the venues, the volunteers, the sponsors, THE TRIATHLETES and, of course, Angi Klick make these a triathlon unlike any other I've been around in over 35 years of multisport. A truly one-of-a-kind, women's only multisport experience.

2021 Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series is in the books. There were so many reasons to be out there, and probably a few to stay home. It was great to be out there this year to see old friends and new triathletes do this beautiful thing we call triathlon. Many of us had B+ or C- years out there, including this photographer. But we showed up, had fun, and welcomed everyone. CCPRC, the BSA troop, and all of the volunteers had an A+ year. Thanks for carrying the torch! See you all next year!

Please check them out and share with all of the athletes you know! Great stuff. I really enjoyed being back out there after the long Covid year off!
