Life’s a funny and strange thing. It doesn’t always go to plan. Sometimes it’s hard and uncertain. Sometimes we have to go through things we never anticipated. But, I couldn’t be more happier to have had a successful surgery of my left hip labrum, hip impingement, and psoas tendon stretch this morning. My doctor told me that the surgery went perfectly. Above all, the thing that I was most nervous about with this was the possibility of delamination in my labrum that seemed to show some on imaging. After surgery, though, my doctor told me that there was, in fact, no evidence of delamination. Even better, he said that the cartilage was in great condition (other than the tear which was repaired). I have 3-4 weeks of crutches ahead of me along with plenty of PT. It’ll be continually challenging in other ways, I’m sure, as I adapt to this other part of life.

I’m back home now. Resting, fighting off some post op nausea from the anesthesia and medicines, taking in food and lots of fluids, and feeling so, so excited and relieved to be able to now start my journey for a full recovery.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the kind messages, support, and love. The last 10ish months has been a far cry from easy, but I know I’m about to turn the corner towards getting out of pain and eventually getting back to the mountains. As always, I could not even begin to think about going through all of this without my biggest supporter, . She has truly gone above and beyond at every step to helping me through this.

Moody waters. I’ve been really missing taking my camera out lately. I miss seeking out those blue hour mountain landscapes and the people that play in them. It’ll be back eventually. In the meantime, for some reason, I’ve been wanting to share again. So you have that for a little while again, for those that enjoy.

A couple weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of photographing and getting married with a small group of their friends and family with this stunning mountain backdrop. Nicole and Alex had reached out to me after a mutual friend of ours introduced us (thanks 🙃). Lo and behold, as we were working together and planning for their big day, we ended up becoming fast friends. Being able to capture this day for them felt entirely special. The perfect weather day and getting to watch them share their love for each other. Oh, and somehow they still managed to fit in some ski turns on a little patch of remaining snow!

Also, shoutout to for filling in as my second shooter this day!

A small moment in motion while in Norway. This feels like an absolute lifetime ago, even though it was only a little less than a year ago. Since then, life hasn’t exactly gone to plan. I’m working every day to find a way back or at least a way forward.

Having not been able to get out and do my normal winter recreation, this winter has actually flown by. I’ve been keeping busy other ways, but it’s weird to not really have gone out to enjoy the season that I so regularly love to enjoy. A little throwback to last winter where I was able to enjoy so much more of it.
