2026. I cannot believe how much has changed between last year and now. My children somehow look so much older, and yet it feels like no time has passed at all.

Time moves so quickly. I’ll keep preserving every little detail—the faces, the freckles, the tiny shifts in who they’re becoming—so one day I can look back and remember all the gradual changes I didn’t even realize were happening.

I’ve always been an early riser, which is probably why shooting at sunrise just makes sense to me. It’s when I make my own family do our photos, too 😂 And honestly, one of the best parts? You’re done early and have the entire rest of the day to do whatever you want!

I’ve been wanting to shoot at for a LONG time, but I knew I would only do it at sunrise because of the crowds. (And yes… even at sunrise, there are still crowds to work around!)

So I asked one of my amazing model families if they’d be willing to wake up at 5am and come bask in that gorgeous early morning light with me.

I mean… I’d say this shot alone made the 5am wake-up entirely worth it. ✨

Mini sessions are short and sweet, yet, you can get a lot of beautiful moments out of them if you let go of the perception that everything has to be perfect. The more you focus on making sure your kid is smiling and standing a certain way, more time is wasted and less beautiful organic moments happen. Trust the process. I’ve got you!
