The biggest mistake that I made as a beginner was thinking I could tackle an entire wedding by myself without a second shooter. Let me hold your hand through this… you have to have a second shooter if you want more creative and Pinterest worthy photos for your wedding! The reason why is because weddings are extremely intense and require those traditional shots that every event needs. But if you are stuck taking all of the traditional shots that soak up so much time, no one is able to float around to capture more creative shots. The art of being two places at once. This is what you need for a wedding that is filled with detail and events. For smaller events, sure, you can probably get away with being a solo shooter but I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have my second. Having Melissa allows me to walk around, take Polaroids, look at the room creatively while knowing that my couple’s album isn’t going to be filled with super traditional photos but also those creative and magazine worthy ones that shock them.

You guys loved seeing Melissa in the last one and we have one more episode of Katherine & Jessie’s wedding with Melissa in it so I’m so excited for you to see more of us together! It’s so crazy seeing how in sync we both are in these videos. This is how you know we just work so well together and finding someone like that is a blessing of a lifetime!

As a bride you should be excited to take your photos, not steadily anticipating that you have to look perfect, pose for long periods of time and be extremely serious and in turn that is how you get those magazine worthy photos. In fact it’s quite the opposite - the inbetween moments that I create for my brides to showcase their genuine selves is where I capture the best photos. I always try to keep your preferences in mind before I start prompting you to do things like making sure your arms look good, you’re walking the correct way, that your posture is correct, but everything between is pure and genuine joy and confidence. We all need that someone to tell us we’re doing a good job. But more than this, we need someone to hype us up and keep the energy flowing. To know exactly when to stop or when to push harder for a better pose. Being a comedian and a photographer frankly goes hand in hand and I want your day to reflect fun and joy, not stress and strain 🤍

The most gorgeous solos for my bride and groom before their reception began at the pool of gods restroom area of Caesar’s palace and I am still drooling over these photos. I love couples who are just ready to enjoy the moment and give me back that same energy!

The biggest concern with many of my brides is that their groom hates photos or hates the attention and they think that means the photos aren’t going to look good. That’s why I always try to give equal attention to both the groom and the bride but ultimately it’s the hype and energy that keeps them willing to keep going. Awkward silences, long poses, and lack of reassurance might cause grooms to become self conscious and close themselves off which is why I’m always moving, always shifting and changing, and most importantly ALWAYS hyping them up!

These garden portraits on digital and film for Katherine & Jessie were such a dream and these were just a fraction of the beautiful shots we got in here & throughout their entire day!

Life has been feeling a little unreal lately 😭 shot the wedding of my dreams last week and I’m still on the cloud. I can’t wait to share more from this wedding and to give you a look into the making of these photographs. For now - I’m just going to sit and imagine myself back in these rooms with the beautiful Katherine Acosta and Jessie Santiago

A little bit about this gorgeous wedding day - we started at Kathleen’s house to do some getting ready portraits of the two of them (not pictured because Instagram doesn’t give me enough slides 😭) and said goodbye to their widdle baby doggie bailey before heading to their church for their ceremony. My second shooter and I ran around the ceremony space, which was enormous, and captured the most heartfelt exchange of rings, arras, cord, all of the traditional things 🤍 then we ran over to Caesars Palace with just the 4 of us to meet my assistant and there, we started capturing their solo portraits alongside their private vow reading. All the while their videographer was directing fun and creative shots while I directed editorial shots. Then we had a small break before meeting them at their reception at London Events and documented their super emotional and tear filled reception events and headed home once I surprised them with their polaroids that I had been secretly taking all day.

I couldn’t imagine a better wedding, a better couple, a better day. And I am truly so grateful for my team and my clients for trusting me to lead!

One thing I always tell my couples, particularly my shy couples who are scared of the camera is that there is never going to be a quiet moment with me. I’m literally always talking, always directing, and always trying to make you laugh and keep things conversational. When they see my photos on my page they usually think that the couple just naturally posed themselves like that and they don’t know how to make the same thing happen for their session, but the trick has never been the couples, it’s always been the photographer, hyping them up and keeping the energy! I hope every couple knows that the photographer’s ability to break those barriers and help you feel completely comfortable with them!!! 🤍

If you’re new here, every year I host the Holiday Mini Sessions event to give back to a deserving cause and I create a gorgeous natural light & artificial light set in my home and open it for bookings for 3+ months to capture families across Nevada. The mini sessions are always priced affordably so that families don’t have to break the bank to get high end photographs, and 100% of the proceeds goes to Las Vegas 501(C)(3) Nonprofit - Moses Willoughby to support their cause. I have games, toys, and snacks for the kids, parents and pets, and I donate my time to be the photographer and editor for each and every session, so you don’t have to find one. It’s an all-in-one setup for family photos every year so you don’t have to think, you just have to show up. And it all goes to such a deserving cause.

The Vivienne Set… coming September 8th through December 28th ♥️

The SOTE Studio - Minimalistic Natural Light Studio Las Vegas x Las Vegas 501(C)(3) Nonprofit - Moses Willoughby annual Holiday Mini Session dates are opening to the public on August 24th 2026!!!! We’ll be sending out invitations to our legacy members first as a true thank you to those who have supported us throughout the years leading up to our biggest and most beautiful set yet. Of course we can’t share the dates to ALL of our legacy members first because we want new families to experience these sessions. So invitations will be sent out at random to 25 people to be accepted within 1 hour. Afterwards, booking will open to the public! This set is going to be available until December 28th!

Thank you so much to Byanca’s Events And Decor for joining us in our charity event and contributing to the drapery set up! There’s a few more final touches before everything is complete but the drapes are suchhhh a dream!

Every day the Lord just sends me on the most unexpected missions and I’m in awe of how He works every time. I literally pulled up to the casino for work to photograph an engagement session and originally I went inside of the casino but it was too loud so I went back outside completely unaware of what was about to happen. A gentleman walked up to me with a hat and sunglasses and a backpack and started a conversation but immediately I could hear his slurred speech and how forward he was and I knew off the bat that this was not a friendly conversation about cameras (i thought it was, that’s why I even responded).

As he was asking me questions he was getting closer and I usually don’t care about talking to people, to be frank, I love talking. You never know why God starts a conversation and it’s an opportunity for me to encourage someone or maybe He uses me to convict someone. But it was his touching and pointing and asking off-putting questions that made me go… okay… I can’t keep chatting. Sometimes the enemy uses people to plant doubt in your head unknowingly. And I am a child of God and I’m careful to what my ears hear lol. So I dipped out but not without planting the seed. I do feel for this brother - he had a wedding ring on, drunk at 4pm in a town he is unfamiliar with, and he was all alone. Talking to someone who was kind. But again, not my responsibility to keep a convo going because God can do the rest. So I said “God bless you” - something that took me a while to get comfortable with saying but now I say it to everyone I meet, and mission was complete. Seed planted.

I pray for this man that God meets him where he’s at and convicts his heart to turn to Him and away from sin. That he knows he is loved and cared for. And that he is enough in God’s eyes.
