Ugh, couldn’t have said this better myself. Somehow I did manage to have my scheduled family session this evening. The 6pm weather was good to us, but with a busy week and weekend ahead, the stress of this is so real. We are all doing the very best we can. I will do all that I can to reschedule at a time that’s ideal, but please remember that I cannot create days in the week or hours in a day. Often, especially with this many rainy days in a row, there simply aren’t the days/hours available without looking at dates further out. Here’s to hoping for more rainless windows of time so we can all get back to our regularly scheduled fall photo sessions.

Having this family on my schedule means I already know exactly how it’s going to go: we’ll show up, they’ll nail every single shot, and the kids will be the perfectly behaved angels they somehow actually are. 😂

The gorgeous Mallory was an absolute dream to work with. Not only is she stunning, but she’s also incredibly witty and had me bursting out laughing more than once during her session. Anyone who can make me laugh like that is an automatic A+ in my book!

You guys know I always love the wild card of the family. Quite often the middle child, has personality for dayyyyysss, keeps everyone on their toes and is always making everyone laugh (even if sometimes we have to stifle that laugh because we’re definitely not supposed to be encouraging it).

Your everyday life is probably more photo-worthy than you think.

Make pancakes. Build Legos. Read books. Pile onto the couch. Let the dog join. Let the house look lived in.

Because years from now, you won’t just want to remember what everyone looked like. You’ll want to remember what life felt like.

My studio is always a great option during the colder months, but this late fall and winter I also want to encourage you to consider staying home. I’ll be offering a limited number of in-home sessions each month to document the ordinary, real-life stuff that ends up making up so much of our memories.

This future SCAD acting student needed some last-minute headshots, so we made it happen. 10 minutes + 3 shirts = a gallery full of variety. Proof that we don’t need a ton of time to get a whole lot of good stuff, and this isn’t even the whole gallery!
