Your senior portraits can include the things that are part of their everyday life right now.

For this senior, volleyball is a big part of her high school years. The uniform, the number on her jersey, the volleyball, and even the net behind her all help tell that story.

Years from now, this portrait won't just remind her of what she looked like during her senior year.

It will remind her of what she loved, what she worked hard for, and what was a big part of her life at that time.

That's one of the reasons I love incorporating the things that matter to my seniors into their portraits.

From Behind My Camera

One of the strangest things about being a senior photographer...

I get to meet someone at a very specific moment in their life.

They are old enough to be thinking about their future...but still young enough to have their entire life ahead of them.

They're finishing one chapter while everyone is asking:

"What's next?"

College? Work? A new city? A completely different path?

And somehow, in the middle of all that excitement and uncertainty, I get to freeze a tiny piece of time.

Not who they were as a child.

Not who they will become years from now.

But exactly who they are right now.

I think that's what I love most about senior portraits.

They capture the in-between.
