Undoubtedly, I speak for all photographers when saying we strive to see our work in print. To that end, please join us for the official opening of ‘Wild Horizons,’ this Sunday! Jen Marie Photography, Matt Shiffler Photography, and myself have devoted tons of time, resources, and energy into curating this exhibition – where we each have 30 or so pieces hanging. We’d love for you to view it in-person! We’ll be on-hand to chop it up, serve refreshments, and facilitate you bringing a piece of it into your very own home 🙂

‘Wild Horizons: Nature Through Three Lenses’ will be open to the public beginning this Wed, 7/15 – running through Sun, 8/23 at Beachwood Art Gallery! There will be an official opening ceremony on Sun, 7/26 from 12-4 & also a closing ceremony on 8/23 from 12-4 - with all three artists in attendance. The Beachwood Art Gallery is located within the Community Center at 25325 Fairmount Blvd. The gallery is free and open to the public, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend hours are limited, call 216.292.1970 for weekend availability.

Featuring three photographers rooted in Northeast Ohio, Wild Horizons explores the shifting light, layered seasons, and quiet beauty of the region’s natural landscapes. Alongside their local landscape work, the exhibition also highlights select wildlife encounters, cityscapes, and travel images.

This show is the culmination of a decade of hard work - long nights, early mornings, (a little bit of) blood, (a lot of) sweat, & a whole lot of strategy. I haven’t done anything of this scale since closing the gallery in 2023. It felt very good to print all fresh work & present it in a variety of new mediums & aesthetics.

'Firefly Highway.' This is the result of a two evenings spent along Furnace Run beneath Everett Rd. covered bridge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park (the second night was needed to correct the faux pas of the first one). The firefly activity was mesmerizing, with at least a half-dozen species represented. Additionally, the full moon came up & bathed the bridge & its reflection in moonlight, almost as if it were daytime!

Snake rescue story & PSA! This Gray Ratsnake had become entangled in mesh bird-netting stored in my parent’s barn. It had probably gone through 100 loops of the nylon material trying to free itself & was very constricted. Luckily we were able to free this beautiful creature, no worse for the wear! 🙂
