I spent the night in Portland tonight with the 3rd and final Lydon senior.

I first met Nate when he was involved in our local community theater program, and I was taking headshots of actors and celebrating all of the young talent in our community.

Fast forward, and Nathan is entering his senior year. He's an artistic soul who creates short animations and is even working on a movie. I loved the "Firework Story" short he created earlier this month.

I won't lie: during any season, but especially my busy season, not much gets me out of bed at 5am. Long days and late sunset sessions keep me out late most nights... so I love a leisurely morning. But this morning, I didn't even hit snooze once.

I loved meeting Dalton and his mom today. We beat the heat by starting early, shooting with a DC-3, an old Dodge sedan circa 1940-something, and a few smaller planes, then wrapped up in the ice rink, which felt like the best kind of reprieve from this high-90s heat wave.

It was worth an early morning alarm, for sure.
