NEW YORK CITY SNAPSHOTS In Plain View

Anthony Buccino’s third photography collection focuses on the 15 year period from about 1999 to 2014, and includes more than 150 color street photos of the Big Apple.

"Snapshot photography, to me, is basically walking around with a camera and shooting whatever looks interesting. I like odd and cute things, but also the ordinary. For the most part the photos are happenstance.

"When I worked for a newspaper in 1990, I was reporter and cameraman. That's when I got used to having a camera with me all the time. Now, I hardly leave the house without one of my Canon cameras.

"The photos in this collection were shot with various cameras including my Olympus OM-1 film camera, two Fujifilm cameras - consecutively, my later Canon digital, and possibly a smart-phone along the way."

Here’s to the nonstop energy generated by this big old city and the people who buzz busily on its wild and crazy streets day and night.

Here’s to the bright lights and the pot holes.

Here’s to the hapless commuters and the more hapless residents who manage to thrive in this city’s intensity.
