June Poppies ❤️
I’ve never had Field Poppies before and was struck by their green/blue pollen this morning. Woody has a couple of wildflower patches behind the house. Here are a couple of images and poppy facts - the pollen was gone when I returned home today 😍. I hope the images are refreshing to your soul ❤️

Poppy Facts & Varieties Green Pollen
*Field poppies (also known as corn poppies) and the Papaver orientale species (which can produce dark blue to dark green pollen) are highly sought after by local pollinators and solitary bees.
*Visually Striking: The vivid green pollen contrasts beautifully with the delicate, paper-like petals of mauve or red poppies.
*No Nectar: Bees visit these flowers purely for the pollen, which is considered highly nutritious.
*Other Pollen Colors: Poppies are known for their colorful dust—other species, such as the Breadseed poppy, are famous for their dark purple pollen.
