Yesterday, we happened to visit Portland Head Light on open lighthouse day! Check out all of the visitors at the top of the lighthouse! It was a perfect sunny day, which if you have been to coastal Maine, you know to cherish it!

We went on the dock to see if we could spot the Mount Washington 9/11 tribute but captured the Milky Way instead. I am not a nighttime photographer, however I always admire nighttime photography and the patience and skill it takes. Sometimes, the best surprises in life are the unexpected!

We couldn’t believe when we rounded the bend in the Schoodic area, Maine and saw a moon-set with a combination fog strip! Capturing this scene was one of my dream come true sunsets! I am so grateful for being presented with this amazing view! 🙏

Today is my father in law’s heavenly birthday. He loved nature so much and taught me to appreciate it as well. I know he is with my mother in law, watching them from the heavens. Beautiful sunsets are definitely my heaven. ❤️

If you have ever spent time in Down East , Maine, you know that fog is just a part of life! The this happens because warm, moist air meets the cold waters and the result is fog. You definitely need a few days in a location so you can get a clear sunny day to be able to see the beautiful scenery. I have been wanting to photograph this spot on the gorgeous Schoodic Peninsula for a few years now. After a few foggy days, patience paid off! That is Cadillac Mountain in the distance. Just so amazing, mountains meet the sea.

The fog band that you see cutting through the mountain is called an advection sea fog. Its a really cool phenomenon that we got to experience a lot on this trip.

I had the pleasure of photographing this beauty, whom I have known since she was a young girl, recently! I cannot believe she is working on her master’s and was in need of professional headshots! Where does the time go? 🥹

It’s been a long, hot summer in the Raleigh, NC area, and I haven’t gotten out nearly as much as I would have liked to take photos. Down East Maine is making up for it. ❤️

I’ve been having so much fun discovering new places and finding those little spots off the beaten path — places that many people, even here in Maine, may never have heard of or visited. Those are my kind of places.

There’s something so special about finding a place where you can slow down, completely escape, and simply be at peace.

This photo was taken in Bar Harbor, a place that certainly isn’t off the beaten path! 😄 We arrived for lunch by ferry and ended up sitting and taking in this view for a few hours. It was one of those perfect coastal Maine days.

And if you’ve spent any time Down East, you know those days can feel pretty rare. The fog is a regular visitor here, but when the sun comes out and everything comes together, it’s absolutely beautiful.

Always grateful for the opportunity to explore, photograph, and share more of this beautiful part of Maine. 🌊🌸

This summer has been hot, so I’ve been doing more indoor sessions, and honestly… it’s been such a blessing. Soft window light, quiet spaces, and the chance to create images that feel intimate and calm.

But I’m also really looking forward to fall — cooler air, golden light, and getting back outside for those cozy, colorful outdoor shoots that feel like magic.
