Nineteen years ago today, I lost my dad.
This is one of my favorite pictures of him. He’s with my baby brother and my nephew. Looking at it this morning, I realized something…
I don’t have a single picture of my dad with my own children.
Owen was still so little, and I was pregnant with Oly when my dad passed away. Somehow, in the busyness of life and distance we never got that photo. I always thought there would be another family gathering, another holiday, another chance.
There wasn’t.
That’s one of the biggest reasons I’m so passionate about photography.
Not because every picture has to be perfect. Not because everyone has to match. But because photographs become priceless when the people in them are no longer here.
So this is your reminder today…
Take the picture.
Use your phone. Hire a photographer. Set a timer. Ask someone to press the shutter.
Just get in the frame.
Because we all think we have more time… until one day we realize that sometimes we don’t.
❤️ Today I’m remembering my dad, and I’m incredibly thankful for every photo I do have of him. I only wish there were a few more ❤️
