Thank you to everyone who has reached out asking to book a session! I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to respond to anyone's messages. I'm still experiencing fairly severe medical issues and I'm not physically able to work yet. Hoping to reopen this fall and as soon as I'm feeling better, I'll post an update! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Miss you all!!!

🐝 Macro Finalist Award 🐝

Here was another throwback entry I entered into the shoot and share competition. I took this photo around a decade ago while demonstrating macro photography at a class held at the landscape Arboretum. This adorable little guy was so drunk on nectar that he let me pet and hold him. I adore bumble friends. The photo placed #131 out of several thousand contenders. I'll take it! I haven't done a ton of work in macro photography so it feels like quite an achievement. 💕

🦚 Macro Winner 🦚

This year I decided to dig back into photos I took several years ago in search of entries for categories I haven't won in yet. This Peacock feather photo was taken around 10 years ago using not my large professional camera but my small pocket size point and shoot - Sony RX100. This photo was my overall highest placement this year in the Shoot and Share competition. It took 31st place out of all macro photography submissions... So freaking close to top 25! 🏆 I originally took this image 10 years ago to submit to a Sony competition. It did win but I can't remember what I received anymore 😂.

💍 Wedding Details - 39th place overall 💍

This was a very surprising and exciting win for me. Out of several thousand photos, this ring shot took 39th place! So freaking close to top 25. I'm honestly not even sure why this photo won haha! There were so many amazing entries. I took this photo last October at my friend, Heather's wedding. A little story behind this wedding because I swear, every time I do a shoot for Heather, some sort of magic happens. Last fall, Heather's Mom was expected to pass soon and wanted to watch her daughter get married. So Heather did the impossible and planned a full wedding in just weeks. It was beautiful! It took place in her grandmother's back yard. Unfortunately, her mom took a turn and last minute, wasn't able to attend. The day was cold, rainy, and high winds. But as the ceremony started, the clouds parted, the winds stopped, and the sun shown bright - but only until the end of the ceremony! The next day, her Mama passed. Both amazing and bitter sweet. I was in awe of Heather for choosing to continue with the wedding during such a difficult time.

I didn't expect to photograph any award winning photos this day with the crazy weather and neighborhood scenery but here we are! Thank you Heather, for the honor or getting to capture this truly magical event. 💕

🌟 This sweet boy is Finn. A while back, I had the honor of capturing a celebration of life session for his family as Finn was getting ready to cross the rainbow bridge. This photo brought so many feelings that I decided to enter it into the Passion Portraits category for the Shoot and Share competition. To my surprise, it placed 54th out of thousands of photos - one of the highest placements I've ever received. 🌟

Mom wasn't sure how the session would go as Finn's health was progressing quickly. But they arrived to the river and Finn came barreling out of the car in excitement! He knew it was his special day and he knew how much these photos meant to his family. It was a session I'll never forget! ❤️

🌟 Life has been chaotic this year and I haven't found time to share much to social. Last spring, I won several international awards that I'm quite proud of! So better late than never... Here is the first one 🌟

These 3 are my fur siblings - my parents three dogs. I took this photo for them as a surprise Christmas gift last year. If you want to know what a challenge is - try getting 3 weiner dogs who are in an environment they've never smelled before that includes 2 cats to all stay in one place and all look at the camera for just point 5 seconds! 🤣

This photo was a finalist in the pet category for the international Shoot and Share competition. There were over 5,000 photos entered into this category and this photo was in the top 150. What makes this competition so special is that people from around the world vote for their favorites, equaling a few million votes in total. Peers, just like you and me are the judges. 🥰

🌟 We pay for nice photos for our human babies... Why don't we do that for our fur-babies? If you have a new puppy or kitten, celebrate them with a newborn pet session! If you have a pet nearing end of life, consider honoring them with a celebration of life session. 🌟

This handsome chap is my own super sweet boy, Auryn. 🐈 He turned 18 years old this last spring so I wanted to celebrate his accomplishment. Normally, he's a pain in the butt to photograph but he was quite cooperative this time! I think it's because even he thought he was looking pretty dapper. 😊

This adorable girl came back to celebrate her 1st birthday with me. Lashes for dayzzzzz! Fun fact, this backdrop is my most request backdrop for little girls. It was also the very first fancy backdrop I ever invested in nearly 10 years ago.

UPDATE: I have extended my leave until May 1st.

Chasing children, jumping up and down, and crawling on the ground has officially become tooooo difficult! Starting November 1st, I will temporarily not be accepting sessions and rarely checking emails. If you are looking to book a session next spring, reach out up to 4 weeks prior to the time frame you'd like to book. If you are a past client, please reach out directly at any time and I will do my best to accommodate you as a priority.

If you are wanting Digital Santa photos in December, still feel free to email me directly! I greatly appreciate your understanding and look forward to returning to my passion in a few months!

Love, Kristen
