“As we maneuver to address COVID-19, there has and will be a huge economic impact on the arts community, especially individual and teaching artists of color.

Arts Administrators of Color Network has set up the Arts Leaders of Color Emergency Fund which folks can donate directly to in support of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists AND administrators (consultants, facilitators, box office staff, seasonal/temporary employees, etc.) who have been financially impacted due to COVID-19. Creatives practicing and teaching their art as well as the administrators who are supporting that art will without a doubt need our financial support to weather this unexpected and uncertain storm.

If you are a BIPOC artists or administrators in financial need, please access this application form to understand how we plan to distribute funds and apply for any available money that is generated.

All money raised will be distributed to BIPOC individual artists/teaching artists who have meet the requirements as stated in the application form. At this time, the emergency fund is only for arts leaders of color based in the United States”

🔎 Tuesdays Together meetings provide a space for creative and entrepreneurs to gather together for coffee and conversation. It is a safe open space for idea sharing, goal building and community where people believe in community over competition.
All are invited, event is free!
Location: 7-9 blocks from the Fruitvale Bart Station, Oakland CA
Focus: Action items and suggestions for creating a cohesive identity for your business and building branding awareness
Meeting time: 11-1pm | Light refreshments will be provided but feel free to contribute

Hey friends! I’m working on a project for NEOCOCO, an incredible WOC t-shirt company who trains and hires refugee and homeless women to make these hand embroidered tees, creating opportunities for them to work and support their families. Amazing, right? They have asked me to photograph creative women in the Bay Area wearing their t-shirt for marketing purposes, so if you’re one who is free this Saturday morning and support this mission, I invite you to stop by Altura in Oakland!
The shoot will be quick per person, so why not make it into an intimate mingle with crafts & a potluck brunch? Come over, be photo ready, bring a brunch snack to share, some scissors & magazines (I’ll provide paper, some magazines, and glue sticks). It’s the perfect excuse for me to make a batch of mini-frittatas, pop some prosecco, and catch up/meet you! DM your email to RSVP for details! 🙌🏾

Altura Studio warming THIS SUNDAY from 3:30pm-6:30pm! Address can sometimes take you to a parallel street of the same street name, so best bet is typing in “Faultline Artspace” in your google maps or waze. You will come to a turning corner and see the photo above. Red gates will be open, you can park in private lot until it’s packed. Come to the glass doors, and give us a call/text at the number in the IG bio to buzz you in! See you there!

SAVE THE DATE! Oakland/San Francisco, my Bay Area friends — I invite you to my studio warming on Sunday April 8, featuring some wonderful guests and activities!
This soirée will begin with welcome cocktails crafted in the first hour by food stylist extraordinaire Becca Martin/ | Our atmosphere will be infused with sounds by DJ Ledet of | The space will be featuring artist Laura Johnston/ .johnston.art and her mixed-media portrait series “Lovely Ladies” | My wonderful friends at (the branding/creative strategy business behind all my branding including Altura’s) just moved into the space below mine, and will be opening their doors to host my dear friend/intuitive healer/writer/artist Brooke Dabalos/ who will be offering $10 mini readings | There will also be a drawing/collaging table set up if you feel like having some creative time!
Come enjoy the gorgeous sunset and check out the space for your future photo studio or workshop rental needs — I know I’ll be hosting some workshops and offer 1 on 1 creative mentorship sessions later this year. But most importantly, come with a loving intention of meeting or being around other awesome members of this local creatively rich community ... ultimately, that’s the heart of this space and I would love for you to be a part of it✨
