On Monday morning I will have open heart surgery to repair a genetic defect my aortic valve. This is something that I have lived with my whole life and has always been watched by cardiologists since I was 2 or 3 years old. It has never really impacted my life until the past year or so. Lots of tiredness and less stamina for much physical activity. I thought I was just too out of shape, which does impact it but turns out it was more so because my heart valve is working at a lower capacity.

Im hoping for a speedy recovery, but know it’s going to be hard as well. Planing on being off work for 8 weeks at least. I am super thankful for the support system I have in place. I hate asking for help with anything, but I have had to ask for help more the last month than ever before. I am thankful for helping me and caring for our family. So happy that and were able to help get my mom up from SoCal to help us out at home as well. And for all their help while they were here for few days.

Surgery was supposed to happen last Thursday but we postponed it due to the ice storm! And also didn’t want to be in the hospital for 5 days without knowing that my family wasn’t back home. Forever in debt to and and Cole’s parents for ensuring we had a safe place to stay. And for helping us get situated back at home today. The last week and today would have unbearable without your help and kindness!

Ap don’t be surprised if the R32 isn’t brought back to life until much later this summer. The timing of this sucks and I was planning on garage storing for 2 months anyways, but didn’t get to it before the storm. The timing sucks. The car will get fixed but it won’t be a priority for a long time.

Events like the are about the cars, but just as importantly about meetijg up with old friends and making new ones!

I spent the better part of my 20’s driving up and down the west coast to different vw/euro car shows/events. I racked up 200k miles in my old 💩brown MK4 Jetta over the course of 8 years.

While I have always enjoyed the events themselves, the journey to get there is part of it as well. I have always loved throwing my camera on my door sill and grabbing rolling shots as I am driving! It has been far too long since I have done this! And it’s a reminder that I need to do this more often.

I’d really like to setup some smaller drives here in Portland area. We have a ton of fun roads near by and it’s always better to do it with other like minded people! Let me know if you would be interested in the comments and I can work on settings something up!

I have a camera with a bunch of lenses that just collect dust at this point. So much easier to shoot with the iPhone that’s always charged, always has memory space, and is always in my pocket!

Well it’s no longer red and many different shades of primer. It’s now 💚💚💚💚

Color is 3M Matte Pine Green Metallic. This was done on my own and I will say that I have mad respect for people that do this for a living. So many man hours were spent on getting it to this point and I still have a little bit to go.

If you scroll over the photos you can still see that the hatch and rear bumper aren’t done. That rear bumper is a pain in the ass! I have a new replacement rear hatch, as the current hatch has lots of random dents and someone thought sanding the glass with 36 grit sandpaper was a great idea!

I started this in early February and it’s just about May and still not done 🥺😢😂. Just the prep work and bodywork that was needed on the driver quarter panel in particular took up way too much time to get right. And it’s still not perfect, it’s been way more than a decade since I did any body work.

I’m happy that I was able to drive it yesterday for the first time in months. Looking forward to having it all done and being able to enjoy it this summer!
