Hi there! My name is Carrie, and I’m a wedding and portrait photographer, and the creative eye behind CMG Imagery. I’m so excited to connect with you all and share a little bit about myself and my passion for capturing stories. Based in Berkeley, CA, where I reside with my sassy Siamese cat, Mishka, who enjoys eating my house plants when she decides I should be paying more attention to her and less to editing your gallery. Also, very happy to travel wherever your story takes me!

My journey with photography started very young when my parents gave me a disposable film camera on a family vacation and I then spent the summer chasing the neighborhood cats around, trying to get them to pose for the camera. And here’s the spoiler: they were not the most cooperative models!

Since then, my love for storytelling through imagery has only grown. It has evolved from pet photography to styled fashion shoots and, for the past thirteen years, to capturing the magic of weddings and families’ milestones. I’m so grateful to have met so many amazing people and feel honored to be a part of their lives in this way.

As a visual story teller with an appreciation for sentiment, I’m always on the lookout for those truly candid and heartfelt moments: the joyful tears, the playful glances, grandma’s handkerchief from her wedding long ago and all those little details that make the day uniquely yours.

My style is very much a documentary approach with a focus on timeless and elegant imagery and true to life colors. While shooting portraits, movement is often incorporated, so that images maintain that photojournalistic essence. By directing you with prompts and ideas improvised from our setting we will get that candid, caught-in-the-moment feeling. I like to set up interactive moments so that you can forget about the camera and just enjoy time having fun together. That’s when the magic happens. ✨
