Last October, I got to photograph these two as they waited for their baby girl.🎀

And now, I get to photograph them with her.

There’s something so special about being invited back into a family’s story—to remember what they looked like before they knew her face, and then get to see them loving her in real life.

It feels full circle in the sweetest way.

Same people.
Same love.
A whole new little person to love.

These are the sessions that remind me why I love getting to document people through the seasons of their lives.

I've been meaning to share this story for a while. 🌿

God used my irises to remind me that just because we can't see Him working doesn't mean He isn't. Sometimes the most important growth is happening beneath the surface.

If you're in a season of waiting or praying for something that hasn't happened yet, I hope this encourages you. 🤍💛

Update on Smokey: I just got off phone with the vet they say he's doing good. His urine output is high but they expect that. If his urine output decreases they said I could take him home tonight.

It's been a hard day of not knowing what's going to happen with Smokey. On my way out the door to head to church an iris bloomed....iris season is over....so I can't help but think this was God telling me I see you and I know.😭

Tonight I was sitting in an emergency vet hospital trying not to cry. Smokey is back in the ER for the second time this week. The veterinarian wants to keep him for 48 hours, but I can only afford 24.
I hate even writing those words.
I love this baby boy more than I can explain and I'm doing everything I can to give him a chance. But ER vet bills have already climbed into the thousands & if this becomes a recurring issue, I may eventually face the heartbreaking reality of having to let him go be with God....which is making me sob even to have to think that. I've only had two years with him.
If anyone feels led to help, I would be incredibly grateful. And if you can't donate, please share this post and say a prayer for my baby boy.

The days feel long. The years feel short. One day you'll miss the chaos, the tiny hands, the missing teeth, the bedtime cuddles and all the little things that seem so ordinary right now.

This session kept me on my toes in the best way 🤍

Their little girl was full of curiosity and movement, and I found myself constantly aware of where she was—wanting to make sure she was safe while still giving her parents space to just be together.

Not something I had to do… but something I genuinely wanted to do.

Because for me, it’s never just about the photos.

It’s about making sure the people in front of my camera feel seen, cared for, and completely taken care of in the moment.
