Had a project bring me out to this week, and I'm always reminded on these trips why I love this work. New city, new faces, same mission: show up and tell the story right.

We've traveled as far as Idaho for a project. Distance has never stopped us, and it never will.

Let's do some Manager's Math

If you spend 1 hour explaining how to use the CRM to a new hire (and let's be honest, it's going to be a lot longer than that), and you hire 5 people this year, you have spent 5 hours explaining the exact same thing.

If you spend 1.5 hours recording a great video on how to use the CRM, you spend 0 hours explaining it for the rest of the year.

You buy back 3.5 hours of your life.

Video training isn't about making things look pretty. It is about buying back your time.

📊 Which of These Videos Was Actually Old?
Last week, I gave my second BNI feature presentation and ran a little experiment:
I showed 14 videos and asked everyone to guess—was this made before or after August 2024? (That was the date of my first feature presentation.)

Here’s the kicker:
🔹 12 of the 14 videos were new.
🔹 But the guesses? Not even close.

Let’s talk numbers:

✅ “Trident Pools” was shot in June 2024 (2 months before my first presentation)...
But 75% of people guessed it was new!

❌ “AAS Culture Shoot” was finished after August, but only 38% guessed correctly.
(I didn’t edit that one myself—might’ve made the difference.)

🎯 “Meals On Wheels” was one of my most meaningful projects, but 72% of the room guessed it was old.

📱 Even videos shot partially on iPhone—like "Trident Pools," “Della eXp”, “AAS Training”, and “Graphix”—often fooled people into thinking they were professionally rigged.

What does this tell me as a videographer?
It’s not about the gear.
It’s not even about the age.
👉 It’s about perception—editing, pacing, and clarity.

Every time I present, I want people to say:

“Wow… he’s gotten even better.”

“Connection before correction.”
That theme ran deep at the 4th Annual Membership Conference with Happy Horse Happy Life and Linda Parelli.
