So we had a post for the ladies, now one for the fellas!

This has become one of my favorite prompts for the guys; often they've been bullied into looking nice and smiling pretty for the pictures. SO, when I can, I try to get them to have some fun.

One thing I strive for during family portraits is the soft asides like these. Yes, we want pictures of the whole crew, but I will absolutely take the time within your sessions to do individual shots like these as well.

Safe to say the garden hose minis are some of the sweetest pictures I've done!

Highlights include:

*getting rained on during the first session, which ended up being super fun
*getting multiple smiles out of a sweet little chunk who's not a fan of strangers
* mom telling me how excited she was to be doing this because her kiddos hate taking pictures but LOVE the water!
*sent home rosemary and basil from the garden

I'll for sure be doing this again!

In honor of Grad season coming to a close and a new school year starting, I'm reminiscing on this super fun shoot from last year with Kelli Mae.

I think what really makes a grad session special is the special details unique to you. For instance, bringing something from your high school experience that you loved, or an item from a skill you've poured yourself into.
These are the things that make you YOU, and that's what will make your senior pictures feel timeless and sweet no matter how long it's been since you took them.
