A couple of weeks ago I was asked about doing a favor for a friend. Her sweet girl was graduating and hadn't had her senior pictures done yet. I have had the privilege of watching Maddie play soccer all season with my daughter. I LOVED getting the chance to do these. Seniors and weddings were always my favorite. I also was reminded why I don't do this for a living anymore. I spent about 2 full days in bed afterwards because my body tends to hate me, buttttt it was worth it to see this girl transform from the soccer pitch to the girly girl baddie that seriously rocked this entire photo session. During her time at WBHS she not only played soccer, but also FOOTBALL, tennis, swimming, volleyball, and basketball. She was voted as this years WBHS female athlete of the year! Congratulations to all of the graduates! I can't wait to see what this life has in store for you!

While we may not have the business anymore there are times that calls for us to pull our cameras out and dust them off. Our gorgeous girl graduating was one of those! While I didn’t birth her I feel like she’s part ours haha! Love you so much and CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your Kiki is SO proud of you!!!

There is something about seeing "your" babies grow up that makes you feel super old and proud all at the same time. This past week I got a FaceTime call from this gorgeous girl. She called to tell her Kiki that she got engaged to her sweet boyfriend. They have been together since they were in 8th grade. He currently serves in the US Marine Corp and she is studying to be a teacher at UNCP. They have such a precious love story and I was SO excited to be able to do a quick engagement session for them before he had to return to base. Congratulations you guys! We are so excited for this next chapter in your lives!

When your nephew and his wife are having a baby and you kept all your photography equipment, you break it out, dust it off, and take the sweetest couple's maternity pictures! Can't wait to meet my great niece!

Photographer friends…. I am selling props upon props, newborn wraps, headbands and hats, Photo Booth props including boas and hats, studio lighting including an alien b400, and a b800, multiple large soft boxes, stands, backdrops, etc. I would really like to sell it altogether. It’s everything someone would need to get started with studio photography, even a 5’x7’ hilite illuminated background which we used for the photo booth but most often is used for headshots and product photography.

When we decided to put everything on hold with the businesses due to my health, I couldn’t part with most of this stuff because in the back of my mind I had hoped and planned to one day get back to doing photography full time. Physically, I know that’s just not going to be possible, at least anytime in the foreseeable future. I’m finally to a place where I’m willing to accept that at least for right now this is not in Gods plan for my life and that’s ok! I don’t need to keep holding onto a garage full of stuff.

There will be more to come of this gorgeous wedding! While we are no longer doing photography on a regular basis, once in a blue moon we'll have one of our family members getting married or graduating or celebrating other life events that prompt us to dust our cameras off. Our nephew was married this weekend in Virginia. Thankful Mr. Smitho was able to make this happen for them! This venue was GORGEOUS!

It's been years since we last captured a wedding or an engagement session. As a matter of fact I haven't even held a camera other than my phone since last June. But just like my precious seniors that I captured last summer, sometimes there are special people in our lives who make it worth the after effects of taking pictures haha... hence why they were married Saturday and I'm just getting these uploaded to a computer.... Danielle and Stephen are our sweet neighbors who are always there for us no matter day or night if we need them. They have been so good to us, there was no way we weren't going to be there for their beautiful day. We love you both and are so excited for you! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Serra!

I may have overdone it and been in a wheelchair since we did these pictures, butttttt this gorgeous girl deserves to be celebrated! She graduated yesterday and while I had to attend the graduation in a wheelchair, I was able to be there and for that I am so thankful! It's funny because over the past month or so I have had 4 seniors whom I am very very close with graduate. My niece and nephew in Virginia and then my gorgeous Leelee here. I have always promised that I would do each of their senior pictures and Kiki/Aunt Christie never goes back on her word. This has definitely been a humbling reminder why I don't do this on a daily/weekly even monthly basis anymore but I am thankful that I was able to do them. Congratulations to all the graduates this year, especially my 4 favorites :) I pray God will bless you abundantly and I can't wait to see you guys take this world by storm! I am SO proud of you!
