The last year looked a little different for me and my photography. 🤍

With my husband stationed in Okinawa, Japan, I spent the year solo parenting our three wild little boys. And somewhere along the way, I gave myself permission to slow down.

I still photographed. I still created. I still loved this little business of mine. But I stopped feeling like I needed to constantly be busy. I let myself take fewer sessions, be more present with my kids, and embrace the season of life I was in.

Now, after a year apart, my husband is finally home, and I can feel myself stepping into a new season too.

I’m ready to create more. I’m ready to work hard. I’m ready for full calendars, new faces, returning families, late nights editing, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with building something I love.

Sometimes slowing down doesn’t mean you’re falling behind. Sometimes you’re just making room for what needs you most at that moment. Now I’m ready to come back ready to let my creative mind run wild even more than before.

I’m ready to be busy again. 📸

Also, getting another photographer in front of my camera will never not be one of my favorite things. There’s something extra special about creating for someone who spends so much of their own life behind the lens. 🤍

The coolest part of being a family photographer? Getting to watch the families in front of my camera grow. 🥹🤍

This was my FOURTH session with this sweet family. When I first photographed them, their oldest was just a baby… and now I’m documenting them as they get ready to welcome baby #3. 🥹

From photographing one tiny baby to watching her become a big sister (again!) these are the sessions that remind me why I love what I do so much.

There’s something really special about knowing these photos aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re little pieces of a family’s story that I’ve been lucky enough to document along the way.

And can we talk about that sunset?! ✨

BAY AREA PHOTOGRAPHER had this gorgeous engagement session booked at Balboa Park before her move up north, so when she came back to San Diego to photograph these two, I got to play second shooter for the evening. ✨

Safe to say I couldn’t resist sneaking in a few shots of my own of this beautiful couple and gorgeous location!!

I already miss having my bestie and favorite photographer right down the road, but I’ll take any excuse to shoot together again. If you are looking for a San Francisco area photographer, definitely consider her!

His family was secretly waiting nearby, I was tucked away with my camera, and she had absolutely no idea what was about to happen.

Then he got down on one knee. 🤍

Getting to capture the surprise, the yes, the family waiting to celebrate them, and those first few just-engaged moments afterward was so incredibly sweet.

If you’re planning a proposal, this is your sign to secretly bring a photographer along.

Watching her with her little guy was such a privilege.
Her son is autistic, and as an autism mom myself, sessions like these have a special place in my heart.

One thing I’ve learned is that the best photos don’t come from expecting kids to sit still and smile on command, they come from meeting them where they are. Sometimes that means running through the woods, giving piggyback rides, taking breaks, or even letting them hold a phone for a few minutes if that’s what helps them feel safe and engaged. Every child is different, and that’s okay.

This was actually our second session together. The first time, he wasn’t feeling his best, and we still created beautiful memories. This time, he was full of energy, laughter, and adventure. Seeing how much more comfortable he felt with me with a camera looking at him was so rewarding.

My goal has never been perfection. It’s creating a relaxed space where kids can be themselves while documenting the genuine connection that makes your family yours. Some of the most meaningful images come from embracing the chaos instead of fighting it.

If you’ve ever worried your child is “too busy,” “too shy,” “too wild” or “won’t cooperate” for family photos, I promise, we’ll figure it out together. 🤍

but behind the scenes, it’s still moments like this 🤍

soft light, tiny hands, and everything that matters most

still here, still creating, still capturing your sweetest seasons.
