When Angela Pluguez Karson (1/2 of the couple from our Mr. and Mrs. Smith inspired session) reached out and requested to do a creative pinup style session for her hubby's birthday, I was all in!

Based on an actual B-17 called Miss Angela, we turned the real Angela into nose art!.

I am so delighted with how this photo turned out and loved creating a fun birthday surprise!

Towards the end of H's session, after all the powder had been tossed, I knew we should get a portrait of her that felt powerful. Young girls should remember their strength, especially as they enter into their teenage years. During such a transformative time, when we start to worry about beauty, we need a reminder that strength is beautiful too.

Watching our children grow into adults is one of the most amazing parts of being a parent. As our kids make it to the teenage years, we tend to photograph them less. These are the years that have been considered "awkward" and they move by the fastest. In celebrating our children with magazine style sessions, we can turn that negative association into something more positive. We can use a photography session to empower them, make them feel handsome, beautiful, stylish, cool, creative and proud of themselves at this often challenging stage of life.

This amazing young lady celebrated her birthday in style--with a fun, powder-filled session that showed off some of her gymnastic skills and her personality (and her Slytherin side). This photograph was one of her favorites because she said, this is the face she makes when she gets her chalk.
