Most days you can find me cuddled up on the couch, wrapped in a big blanket and an even bigger glass of wine. When I’m not having a Netflix marathon with my (hunky) husband, I’m probably off exploring a new city or place, tasting the food and drinks that come along with it (can you tell my life revolves mostly around food?). We’re over-enthusiastic dog parents who might just whip out our wallets t

o show you the latest picture of our fur baby. I’ve been blessed with a happiness and joy that grows deeper and fuller when I am able to serve others. It is a privilege that I will never take for granted, to be welcomed into a strangers life and told “We trust you to capture this moment”. If I can make just one person feel something with my photographs
– make one person see how special & beautiful they are in that moment –
I would define that as my vision of success.

Erica & Will's wedding at Whistling Straits Golf Course was my first full wedding of 2020 and WOW... what a way to start off the year! This year might be looking a lot different than what we all imagined but I can guarantee that Will & Erica had everything they ever dreamed of yesterday.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🤍 I’ve been putting off this post for quite a while — with everything happening in the world, I wanted to make sure it was the right decision. After a lot of conversation & prayer, I’ve decided that 2021 will be my last year shooting weddings. While it saddens me to leave this part of my life (a part that has brought such immense joy & growth!), our growing family will always be my first priority 🤍 As I transition into more family centered photography, I am SO thankful for every single couple whose love story I’ve been privileged enough to document over the last 8 years. I don’t know what’s behind the next door we walk through but dang, am I excited to find out 🤍🤍🤍

Coronavirus. A word that has really changed a lot of lives and has certainly turned the wedding world upside down. When Stephanie and Spencer were faced with the difficult decision to cancel their wedding, they decided that ultimately the only thing that mattered was getting married to each other… and so they proceeded in the most intimate and genuine way.

On Saturday, May 16th, Stephanie and Spencer vowed their lives to each other in the living room of their apartment — a place they’ve spent so much time building their life together. Their guests included two witnesses, one officiant and one photographer BUT amidst all the changes there was certainly still dancing, live music, toasts, and tears of joy. Tears that came from the purest form of love I’ve ever witnessed. In all honesty, I’ve never cried so much on a wedding day.

While I adore photographing elaborate tablescapes and an abundance of beautiful flowers, there is something so beautiful about documenting a wedding from the perspective of photo-journalism and focusing in on the organic moments that unfold throughout the day. In an industry that is filled to the brim with frills & fluff, Spencer and Stephanie stripped down their day to the only thing that matters: love.

If you take away anything from this blog post, I hope it’s that the unadulterated happiness in Stephanie’s face or the overwhelming emotion in Spencer’s heart didn’t come from something money could buy… it came from their decision to join their lives together, no matter the circumstances.

Although this exact scenario is not how Stephanie & Spencer pictured their wedding day, I feel confident that they pictured the same amount of joy & happiness that they felt today

The city of Madison photographs even more beautiful than normal with Courtney & Mike in front of it! I am so excited to share this perfectly matched couple on the blog today!

Three years ago, Courtney sat in her apartment one night with no intention of leaving the couch but her friend insisted otherwise. As the two ladies embarked into Madison for a girls night out, Mike bumped into Courtney outside of a bar and that chance encounter changed everything. From the moment they met, Courtney immediately knew there was something different about Mike and they’ve been inseparable ever since. After dating long distance, spending countless hours on the phone, and driving to see each other as often as possible, Mike & Courtney got to know each other a different level — a bond that grows their love with deep roots.

Courtney’s personality is so energizing! Her vivacious spirit is contagious and you immediately feel happier in her presence. Mike is calm, patient & attentive — he genuinely listens to you in conversation and puts so much thought behind his words! Together, their personalities bring out the best in each other and truly compliment one another.

Mike & Courtney, the way you found each other is nothing short of fate! I am so excited to document your wedding day next year! Xo

I can’t think of a better way to start off the day than with Dan & Hayley’s lakeside engagement session at Grant Park! Ever since Hayley described herself & Dan as “kids at heart,” I’ve been dying to meet these two! For those of you who know me, I’m usually laughing my way through life so to meet a couple who is all about adventure + silliness + the joy of little moments… I knew it was a perfect match!

The story of how Dan & Hayley met seriously makes you believe in fate! About 2 years ago, one of Hayley’s friends set up a profile on a dating app for her (much to Hayley’s dismay) — but she made Hayley PROMISE to keep the profile up for one week and just go on one little date. What could be the harm, right?! The very last night of that “deal”, Hayley and Dan connected and quickly exchanged phone numbers. Even though Hayley deleted the app that same night, she kept talking to Dan and they decided to meet up! The first (and only) date was all these two needed and as Dan puts it, “the relationship was so easy from the start”.

Our entire night was filled to the brim with laughter, bear hugs, and conversation about their passions. Hayley is a wildly talented actress who has been performing professionally in musicals — despite her incredible success, Hayley also knew she had a passion for leading so she returned to school and focused on education. She now teaches a room full of bright young minds and is SO dedicated to making a difference! Dan compliments Hayley’s personality with his quiet intellect and thoughtful gestures — it was evident through watching them interact that he absolutely adores her & goes out of his way to show her every day.

Dan & Hayley, I can’t wait to celebrate with you again next year at your wedding! Xo
