Sometimes you just know it’s time to go.
After all the rainfall, LaSalle Canyon didn’t disappoint.

Best I’ve seen it in years. This was a beautiful spring morning.

This doesn’t happen too often…

There’s a reason you don’t see many images like this. The caves near Cascade Falls at Matthiessen State Park sit in deep shadow, while the waterfall demands light and movement. Balancing these two elements can be extremely difficult.

Yesterday, conditions came together just long enough to capture both, revealing a perspective that’s rarely seen.

Some of the best days happen right after the rain.
Captured yesterday at Kaskaskia Canyon after recent storms, with both waterfalls flowing and even the rarely seen fall on the right coming to life.
