The tropical disturbance in the eastern Gulf is helping to enhance thunderstorms across the Florida Peninsula earlier today and this evening. Quite the lightning storm over Lake Okeechobee tonight, with vivid cloud-to-water strikes. 

Sadly, reports indicate that a man was struck by lightning in Okeechobee, Florida, earlier today during the first round of storms around 3 pm.
