WATCHTOWER OF THE WEST—The city stands still—but not silent. The Lake Hefner lighthouse’s heart glows in red, a sentinel under the moonlight, while Oklahoma City holds its breath. The have just completed a historic 68–14 season—the best in franchise history—and now await their first-round opponent from the Play-In Tournament.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads this young, hungry squad, poised to make a deep postseason run. The storm is gathering, and the city is ready.

EDGE OF NIGHTFALL—The dusky sky pulled me in—soft blues, a sliver of moonlight, and the hush of evening settling over the marina. I captured this just as the last trace of sunlight kissed the horizon.
Lake Hefner doesn’t just sit still—it holds its breath.

ROUTE 66 THEN AND NOW—This past Saturday, I was driving along Historic Route 66, reconnecting with my Oklahoma roots, when I came across this view—and had to stop.

In one frame: the historic Route 66 bridge stretching over the Arkansas River, the rusted bones of the old MKT (Katy) Railroad Bridge still holding their ground, and the Port of Catoosa standing tall in the distance. Oklahoma’s past and present, all colliding at once—roads, rails, rivers, and the legacy of motion that built this place.

Then, right as I shot this photo, an ambulance sped through the frame—first responders in motion, cutting across the stillness. It was the present moment as strong as it gets, layered over generations of history.

I shot this photo to capture that feeling—of heritage, history, and the strength that still lives in the landmarks we often pass by.

GOLDEN HOUR BELONGS TO US—Oklahoma’s heart beats loud in this skyline—where history meets the horizon and ambition touches the clouds. As the sun dipped low, downtown OKC rose in gold and glass, framed by skies only this state could paint. This is more than a city—it’s the spirit of the plains, standing tall in every story written in its silhouette.
