Two months ago today, our people showed up for us. They came from all over—gathered in one place to celebrate two people who found each other a little later in life. Words are failing me in describing just how magical of a feeling that is.
From the beginning, our only goal was to keep the day intentional and personal. No fuss, no expectations - just US.
Choosing our venue was the easiest decision we made. We got married at home. The same home we’ve spent the last year pouring our literal blood, sweat, and tears into. We exchanged vows beneath the giant elm tree off our back patio. After days of rain, we moved lunch from the lawn to the driveway—but honestly, it ended up perfect.
We handed the ceremony over to our dear friend Austin Klososky- an incredible speaker, and someone whose own marriage is full of kindness, strength, and respect. He wrote the entire ceremony and our vows. The line that still sits with us (and many of our guests):
“Two people who fit together perfectly, while neither changed their shapes.”
Our flowers were designed by my best friend Kylie of Rootstock Floral. We gave her a loose vision: disco, color, joy—and she brought it to life in the most stunning way. JB’s nephew Austin did my makeup, and his niece Alyssa worked her magic on my hair. Getting ready with them before the day began was one of my favorite parts of the whole day.
After lunch, our friend Josh sang a few songs that left everyone in awe. And then Ian - he literally brought fire—with a fire dance performance in our backyard. Unreal.
And these photos? Taken by my one and only, AJ. I asked him to stay a guest and only snap a few. But he over-delivered in the most AJ way, giving us images more meaningful than we could’ve ever asked for.
No timelines, no pressure. Just love, our people, and a day we’ll never forget. 🧡
