This is what it looked like yesterday — 12 balloons up at once for the sunset lift, then they tether back down for the full night glow after dark. Shot entirely by drone.
The 4-10pm window is the one you want. You get golden hour inflations AND the glow in one trip.

That East TN sunset + a sky full of balloons. 🎈
If you're looking for something to do TOMORROW NIGHT (Sunday, Sept 6th) — this is it. It's the last night of the Monroe Life Balloon Festival at the Monroe County Airport in Madisonville.
It's the largest balloon festival in the region — 13th year — with hot air balloons, tethered rides, live music, fair-style food, Kids Fun Zone, and the Balloon Glow finale at dusk where they light the balloons to the music. Gates 4pm-10pm. All to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Monroe County. 
I grabbed this pano at sunrise over the field — you need to see it in person at sunset tomorrow.

Sunrise over history. 🇺🇸
5:47 AM at Fort Southwest Point State Historic Park in Kingston this morning — the only reconstructed Federal-era fort in Tennessee.
Built in 1797 at the confluence of the Clinch and Tennessee Rivers, this was the frontier. Soldiers stood on this same ground watching the sun come up over the same hills.
This morning, it was just me, the flag, and that golden light spilling over the cabins. Moments like this are why I get up early.

Sunset over the Monroe Life Balloon Festival last year. 🌅🎈
