Year after year, I return to this exact spot to witness the raw, unyielding power of the ocean. Each visit is a humbling reminder of the majesty of God’s creation and the delicate balance of nature. This past weekend proved it once again. What makes this experience even more special is the community of photographers I meet here—talented, passionate individuals who come together to capture these breathtaking moments. Sharing this experience with others who appreciate the beauty of creation is a gift, and I leave every time inspired by both the scenery and the people.

Title: Impermanence of life

The cherry blossom season, or “sakura” season, holds profound significance in Japan, symbolizing both the ephemeral beauty of life and the renewal of nature. These themes are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and are reflected in various aspects of life during this period.

Cherry blossoms bloom brilliantly but only for a short period each year, typically around two weeks. This fleeting beauty is often seen as a metaphor for life itself, which is beautiful but transient. The sakura reminds people to cherish every moment, reflecting the Buddhist concept of “mono no aware,” the awareness of the impermanence of things and the gentle sadness at their passing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

As we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. This year has been an incredible journey, filled with unforgettable moments and it wouldn't have been the same without your support.

Your support have not only encouraged me but also inspired me to keep capturing the beauty of our world. Each photograph I share is a piece of my heart, and your appreciation for my work means the world to me.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the blessings in our lives, and I count each one of you among mine. Whether you've been here since the beginning or have recently joined the photography community, your presence has added value to my journey as a photographer.

As we enjoy this season of gratitude, I'm reminded of how much joy photography brings into my life and how grateful I am to share that joy with you. Here's to more adventures, more breathtaking moments, and more memories to capture! Sharing a few from this past season as Autumn soon leaves 🍃 us.

Wishing you and your loved ones a heartwarming and joyous Thanksgiving. May your day be filled with love and good eats! ☺️

With heartfelt thanks,
Flo

Daybreak flows from the last frontier.

As dawn breaks over the rugged Alaskan coastline, the volcanic shores glisten with a mixture of saltwater and dew. Towering in the distance, majestic mountains with snow-capped peaks cast long shadows over the dense, evergreen forests below. The juxtaposition of the dark volcanic rocks against the emerald canopy paints a breathtaking tableau, showcasing the diverse and raw beauty of Alaska's landscapes.

Autumn meets Winter in the North Cascades.

The day before these images were captured, the North Cascades was blanketed by a snow showers, hindering our initial climbing plans. However, this turned out to be a silver lining, as the following morning unveiled a landscape covered in pristine snow. Its beauty was beyond words, reminiscent of a scene from a fairytale (or Skyrim 😉). This series captures a glimpse of that magical moment, showcasing Liberty Bell Mountain in its full splendor. The morning fog draped throughout the valley. If you zoom in, you'll spot the miniature frozen larches, radiant in their autumnal peak.

Namsan by night

The Seoul City Wall, also known as the Hanyangdoseong, was originally constructed in 1396, during the reign of King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty. The wall was built to protect the city of Hanyang, the capital of Joseon, which is now modern-day Seoul. The wall stretches for about 11.5 miles and passes through the four main mountains surrounding the city: Baegaksan, Naksan, Namsan, and Inwangsan.

Namsan Tower, or N Seoul Tower, is located on Namsan Mountain, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Seoul. The tower is located near the center of the city, and provides a panoramic view of the entire city. The tower is beautifully illuminated at night, and many visitors find the evening hours to be the perfect time to capture the beauty of the tower and the city wall. The contrast between the ancient city wall and the modern tower, both lit up against the night sky, creates a stunning visual that blends the old with the new. This combination of historical and modern architecture, set against the backdrop of the bustling city, makes for a truly unique and breathtaking image.
