Dear clients, friends, and clients who have become friends,
I want to start this message by letting you know how grateful I am to have been able to document any part of your life and, for some of you, many moments of your lives.
My husband (Andrew) and I have been working as a team to make Root & Bloom Photography become a successful small business. Since day one, we always knew that the lifestyle we have chosen---me running this business while homeschooling our kids--- largely depended on Andrew being our stable source of income.
With that being said, we have been trying to absorb a very bittersweet promotion for the last few weeks. Andrew has been offered a job that we (as a team) feel he deserves and should pursue. The very difficult part of that position is that it requires our family to relocate out of state. This is a decision that we did not take lightly and took many days to process and evaluate, and at the end of the day, we agree that it is best for our family.
In addition to my business, my entire family lives in Washington and the idea of leaving this state is utterly heartbreaking to me. There are many of you who I’ve documented every important chapter of your life, some who may be waiting for me to document the next one, and even more that I have seen every year-or-two to document the growth of your family. I want you to know that I don’t take any of these experiences for granted. I know that without your friendship, trust, loyalty, and kindness, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My business exists because of the relationships that I have built over a lifetime and because you continue to reach out to me.
The good news is that I am not leaving quite yet. I still have this season to spend documenting your families and I am hoping that I can see as many of you as possible. I also know that this is my last summer in Washington and I want to enjoy it with my family. I plan to spend every week on the water, driving to the mountains, camping, or sitting in my garden. I want to see you, but I also know that I need to pump-the-brakes and not over-schedule myself. I will be taking a handful of Full-Family-Sessions/Newborns/Seniors this summer, but I will primarily only be scheduling Mini-Sessions this year. Feel free to text, message, or email me to coordinate the date and time. Each mini-session will be priced at $250 (after tax) and come with about 20 edited images.
The Mini-Sessions I have scheduled are:
July 19th from 2:00-6:30 (every 30 minutes) @ Fort Steilacoom Park
August 16th from 2:00-6:30 (every 30 minutes) @ Pioneer Park in Olympia/Tumwater
October 4th from 12:00-4:30 (every 30 minutes) @ Glenwood Tree Farm in Southeast Tacoma
October 11th from 12:00-4:30 (every 30 minutes) @ Billy Frank Jr. Wildlife Refuge in Nisqually
For those of you wondering where I am going and if I will ever be back, the answer is: The Phoenix area and “Yes!”—I will return for lots of visits. I currently do not have a long-term plan for Root & Bloom’s appearance in Washington. I know that when I come to town to visit, I would love to intentionally schedule mini-sessions for all of you… and if you are ever vacationing in PHX, I hope you think of me to document your time.
If you’ve read this far, thank you! I truly appreciate you and the friendship we have made since I’ve started this business. This wouldn’t exist without you.
