One of the biggest misconceptions about newborn photography is that if your baby is more than two weeks old, it's too late. The truth is...it's usually not.

I've photographed babies well beyond the "ideal" newborn age, and some of those sessions have become absolute favorites. Whether your little one arrived early, spent extra time in the hospital, or life simply became a whirlwind after delivery, beautiful newborn portraits are still possible.

Every baby is different, and every session is designed around your baby, not the calendar.

One of the questions I hear most often is:

"We don't know when our baby will arrive...how do we book?"

The answer is simple!

I reserve your due date, not your actual session date. Once your baby arrives, we'll adjust your session to accommodate their birthday, your recovery, and your family's needs. Newborns arrive on their own timetable, and my schedule is designed to be just as flexible.

After photographing more than 5,000 newborn babies, I've learned that no two babies, or families, are alike. Every session is completely baby-led, calm, and personalized so you can simply relax while I take care of everything.

"What if my baby won't sleep during their newborn session?" 💜

It's the question I hear more than any other.

And the answer is...

You don't need to worry.

After photographing more than 5,000 newborn babies throughout my career, I've learned that every baby is different and every baby deserves patience, time, and a calm approach.

One thing I always tell parents is this:

It is NOT your job to get your baby to sleep.

That's my job.

Your job is simply to relax, enjoy this special experience, and soak in these precious first days with your new little one.

I have countless gentle techniques to help babies feel comfortable, safe, and settled during their session. Some little ones drift off to sleep right away, while others need a little extra time and that's perfectly okay. Every session is completely baby-led, allowing us to move at your baby's pace.

And here's something many parents are surprised to hear...

If your baby isn't ready to sleep immediately, we often capture beautiful awake portraits first before those sweet sleepy images later in the session.
