“Posing? Nah, I prefer prompting! 📸✨

So what’s the difference? Posing is handy in that you can tell your client exactly where to position their body, but a lot of the time it feels forced or obscure. Think magazines with high fashion models. They are very intentionally posed, but mostly likely you are not going to walk around contorted the way they show.
Instead, prompting allows me to still position the body in the most flattering way, but also allows me to follow the clients comforts. Take this photo for example, I asked her to sit comfortable on the ground and lean into her knee. I asked her to sit up tall and place her hands where it feels natural. Then I took a couple of images while talking to her, letting her move her body throughout so that the image was more authentic, more relaxed, and altogether more comfortable for her to enjoy! Letting the moment unfold naturally brings out the true essence in every shot. It’s all about capturing those authentic, unscripted moments where you can truly be yourself.
