We're super excited to finally share our award winning photos from the Oregon Professional Photographers Association's 2025 Image Competition! We had to hold on to this news for a while as some of these images were waiting to be entered in another competition which we'll find out the results of tomorrow.

In December 2025, we attended the OPPA Annual Banquet in Tualatin and both Kari and Karissa were honored with awards for their work! 📸❤

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have so many amazing locations that make the perfect setting for your senior portraits! Between Olympia, Tenino, Centralia and Chehalis there are countless rural and downtown settings that we love photographing at. Some of our favorites in this post include Pioneer Park, Squaxin Park, WA State Capitol, Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, Downtown Olympia, Downtown Tenino and Historic Downtown Chehalis.

Every senior session at Studio K includes a session planning appointment in person or on the phone to help you pick outfits and locations for your session! We also have a wide variety of settings on site at our studio and 2 acre outdoor portrait park in East Olympia. Before you decide your locations, we recommend scheduling a studio tour to see what we have onsite and talk about your session. The studio tour and session planning appointment can be combined! :)

We're excited to introduce you to Daisy's new best friend Guava, a 3 year old chihuahua mix found on the streets of California with her puppies in tow (who were all adopted to loving homes). The rescue we adopted her from described her as the Parkour Princess, and she lives up to that name! She bounces around the house, treating our living room as the training gym for American Ninja Warrior 😂

She's officially been with us for five months, and we all love her so much! She's brought so much joy to our lives in such a short time, we are so glad we found the perfect match for Daisy after losing Rosie last spring. Between our time without Rosie and before Guava, Daisy was pretty sad and uninterested in playing with toys or going outside. But Guava helped bring Daisy's spark back, they wrestle and play for hours everyday. Daisy is 11 years old now, and she's acting like a puppy again and we love to see them play together and cuddle on the couch when they get all tuckered out ☺️ Guava is the perfect dog for us and we couldn't be happier! ❤

p.s. You may have seen us announce welcoming a different dog to our home last spring. Lily lived with us for 5 months and hadn't been in a foster situation yet, so no one knew much about her behavior and needs. From her time as a stray, Lily developed severe resource guarding and behavioral issues. Lily attacked Daisy over food and showed aggressive behavior towards us over trash. For ours and especially Daisy's safety, Lily needed a new home without other pets or children. Luckily, she was adopted quickly by a nice couple and we hear she's doing well. We made the right decision for our family and now all people and dogs involved are safe and happy. ❤

Today is National Retro Day, and what better way to celebrate than sharing a selection of photos of the fabulous Charlotte Darling!🖤📸

Charlotte first came to Studio K in 2015 for her senior portraits; she loves vintage fashion and wanted that to show through her photos. We loved working with Charlotte for her senior photos and have done other fun vintage inspired photo shoots with her over the years! In 2016, Kari entered an album of Charlotte in the Professional Photographers of Washington Image Competition, and won the Award for Best Album and the 1st Place PPA Western District Album Award. How has it already been 10 years since this photo shoot? We need to do a session again soon Charlotte! 🖤📸

We love showcasing your personal style in your portraits, but we also have a studio wardrobe that you can play dress up in! Kari loves collecting unique fashion and props so we have a lot of pieces to use for photo shoots. What style do you want your portraits to show? Cole • Class of 2026

We captured Cole's senior portraits and his older brothers' too; it’s such a honor to photograph siblings through the years! They all played sports so that was a highlight for each of their seniors sessions, and we loved creating some creative golf photos with Cole! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️
