I just wanted to provide a little life update since I’ve been MIA for a little while. At the end of September, my husband, Dylan, passed away unexpectedly. We had found out a few months before that we were expecting a baby. It has been a very tough six months, but my sweet baby has given me purpose and strength to move forward. I feel very lost without Dylan, but this whole situation has made me realize how rich I truly am. Thank you to everyone who has been so patient and gracious with me. I have learned just how important and precious pictures can be when they’re all you have left, and I hope to keep capturing memories for you 🤍

I’ve rebranded!! Welcome to the Flock 🐣🤩

I started Shots of Honey my junior year of college in 2017. I named my little side hobby after my beloved cat, Molly (aka Molly Moo, Mimi, and Honey). Molly was my first ever model and my soul animal.

As this hobby has developed into a side hustle, I had to make the tough decision to rebrand in order to bring recognition to my little business. I settled on Mockingbird Photography for a few reasons. First, my married name is Flock & we love a good bird reference 🤪 Second, because my husband and I call each other the mockingbird (me) and the crow (him) after the Hardy song. And finally, to pay homage to the place my photography really took off: Arkansas, where the state bird is none other than the mockingbird.

I will always hold Shots of Honey dear to my heart, but I am so excited to see where this shift takes me. Thank you to everyone who has trusted in me and believed in me, and I can’t wait to make some more memories with all of you!!

I grew up in Syracuse, Nebraska & graduated with my Bachelor’s from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln and my Master’s from the University of Arkansas. I’m a Cornhusker, a Razorback, a cat mom, a HUGE Swiftie, and a serial hobbyist. I love being outdoors, driving and scream-singing with the windows down, curling up with a good book, and playing with my cats.
