Chris Wildrick Photography

Chris Wildrick Photography Hey! I’m Chris Wildrick, and I am most comfortable looking at the world through a camera lens. In high school, it took me to journalism class.

I got my first camera, an Argus 126, in the 6th grade, and photography has been taking me places ever since. Being the photographer got me an English credit, uninterrupted nap time in the darkroom, and a sideline pass to all the sporting events. In college, it took me to fraternity and sorority houses, where I took pictures of special events. One sorority even named me “Man of the Year.”

After co

llege, my camera took me to weddings, graduations, football games, and family gatherings. It even took me to a few years on the road photographing the President of the United States, the Vice-President, the Secretary of Defense and several First Ladies. The best place my camera has taken me to, though, is to the middle of nowhere. It’s taken me on five-hour motorcycle rides the night before an eclipse. Three hour hikes to waterfalls. Off-roading through forest service roads in search of the perfect location, the perfect lighting, the perfect angle… for the perfect picture. You see, nature photography is my passion. I’m an outdoorsman, an adventurer, and an environmentalist. I believe the best studio is the one I set up next to my campsite. I am inspired by the world, and I believe in its preservation. I believe that capturing it now is a way of preserving it for generations to come, and hopefully a way of inspiring others to preserve it as well.
