We are stepping into 2024 with gratitude. For our lives. For our babies health and happiness. And for each other.
Last Tuesday, I was on the way to drop off the girls with family so I could complete a full work day. On the way there, we were hit by a negligent driver who t-boned and totaled our car. The girls were immediately taken to Children’s Hospital for their injuries. I was taken to the ER the following day for concussion, pain, and whip lash symptoms. It is going to be a trying few months dealing with pain, muscle damage and other injuries.
But we remain grateful. The first responding officer said he rarely sees everyone able to walk out of a car after an accident of this scale. Belongings can be replaced. Cars are temporary. But we are all still here. We can get through this. 🤍
We are attempting to provide some sense of normalcy for the kids right now, by getting them right back into their activities, but are balancing that with pain medication, countless doctor appointments and physical therapy treatments as wounds heal.
Clients, if I already did your session, my editing return times are about a week delayed. If you are awaiting a response or for communication, I am back in the office next week as much as can be tolerated with screen and light sensitivity. I would truly appreciate any kindness, patience, and understanding that can be extended during this time. And it is also a reminder of the importance of having compassion for people as they may look okay, but are struggling.
This isn’t the New Year’s post I was hoping to make. But if this last year has shown us anything, it is that we are resilient, full of grit, and that we will persevere. 🤍
