A colleague familiar with my work was shocked to hear that I photographed anything other than people. Of course I do! What I choose to show on social media is just a sliver of my work. So, here’s an ode to a cool coffee shop in the San Antonio Pearl District with good vibes, yummy breakfast eats and a sensational Cortado.

Lately, I’ve been burning candles at both ends and frankly I’m exhausted. As I get ready for my studio lease to end soon and a new chapter to emerge, I can’t help but ride the roller coaster of emotions.

There is a real and almost exhausting internal and external review of my work the last 10 years. Did I achieve what I want? Did I grow to my full potential? Did I fail? What were my wins?

While my work has progressed immensely, the one thing that has stayed with me is that fact that I’ve always wanted others to be able to FEEL something in my work. No matter where chapter 2.0 takes me, I hope I can always create where one can FEEL by viewing my imagery.

I loved this shoot with eloise and Samantha Clinch SashaModels because from the moodboards came a vision and teamwork I am truly proud.

Hi! Im Joey a professional photographer with a background in critical care nursing and Masters in Nursing education. I don’t show my face too much here but I realized I haven’t posted much this year. There’s something so special about photographing a newborn for a family I’ve worked with before. When a client trusts you enough to invite you back for baby #3, it’s not just a booking (so cringe)— it’s a relationship. Watching a family grow, seeing how their older kids have changed since I last saw them, and getting to capture this brand new chapter for them all over again… it never gets old.

Thank you for trusting me with these tiny, fleeting moments once more. It truly is an honor. 🤍
