’Twas the week before Christmas and all through the schools,The adults were exhausted and bending the rules. The kids were all buzzing on sugar and cheer,And structure had vanished till sometime next year.
The lesson plans waited, untouched on the desk,While carts rolled through hallways in glittery mess.Pencils were broken, chairs tipped just a bit,And someone was crying about how to sit.
Scissors went missing, glue covered the floor,Visual schedules laughed—what are those for?Timers were buzzing, movement breaks too,And “one more minute” was said… times forty-two.
The crafts were all festive, fine motor in sight,Though coloring lines were a losing fight.“Hands to yourself,” “feet on the floor,”Were phrases repeated like never before.
Transitions were tricky, emotions ran high,Coffee was reheated… again… with a sigh. But through all the chaos, the mess, and the noise,Progress still showed in the smallest of joys.
So here’s to the helpers who held it together,Through Christmas week chaos and questionable weather.Merry Christmas to us—may the break come fast,And may January routines actually last 🎄✨
