Last week I had a really exciting find which was this pseudoscorpian! I have never seen one in person before and the second time out this year, the first log I flip over, I find this little dude! I also enjoy that I found one with prey. I'm not sure what it's dragging around but it certainly adds to the scene.

It's been a loooooong time since I got to do a stack on a beetle like this this. I think the last time was like 2022, the first time I started doing macro photography! Crazy lol. This time I was definitely able to get a cleaner stack which was nice.

March has finally come and that means some creatures are starting to emerge again! When I went out a couple weeks ago (before another snow storm), I also took notice of some nice textures present on some logs in the forest as well.

It's awesome to have some warm weather again and be able to get out more now. Looking forward to sharing more with everyone as well.

This is a photo I'm so happy to have taken. During the 2025 macro event hosted by there was a couple bolas spiders that were found. These are quite rare in Ontario and it was my first time seeing them in person. I'm really glad we all got the opportunity to take photos of them and I really hope we can find some again next year!

Earlier this year I went out to take photos in my birthday since it fell on a weekday. One of the things I came across was this Two-spotted Cobweaver (Asagena americana) and let me tell you, this little fella was zooming over the sand! With it being so small as well, I had some trouble following it around. Luckily it settled on this tiny little plant and that gave me a chance to get a decent photo of it. One detail I didn't notice until I edited this photo is the tiny eggs on one of the leaves. I have no idea what they would be for, maybe a shield bug? Who knows but it was cool to see afterwards.

Earlier this year there was a big macro meet with photographers from Ontario down at house in Windsor. This photo is my favorite shot I got during my time there. The Small-eyed Sphinx Moth (Paonias myops) is an absolutely stunning moth. The intricate colour patterns are incredible and its wings are a beautiful shape to them. Out of all the subjects I photographed, I took the most time with this one, both when it comes to taking the images and admiring it between shots. I hope you all enjoy this image as much as I do!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians out there! Enjoy your turkey and time with the family! This year I'm lucky to be able to spend my Monday with family, usually I miss out on the get together because of work but not today! This year I am thankful for that and time spent with friends. It's been a heck of year so far so to the people who have supported me through it, thank you!

The first weekend of August was the meeting of macro people at beautiful house. We explored the local Windsor area and this was one of the many, many no-touch fuzzy things we found. This one is a Spotted Apatelodes Moth in caterpillar form to be specific. Shoutout to Jason for bring a great host!
