Good question! The best way to answer this is to say the name backwards..."Edu, Music, World," or a study of music that comes from all around. I know that is a little different from what you were maybe expecting, but let me explain.
The Famous trumpeter, Louis Armstrong once said, "All Life is Music." While he may not have literally meant that cats and dogs can play saxophone, the idea that all life is permeating with music does cause for some re-evaluation and "out of the box" thinking of what actually makes music. What if by listening in this manner we not only increase our ability to hear just music, but to also hear music that every person, place or thing makes on a daily basis? For Example...
The beat and unique rhythm that all people think, talk, and move too...
The reoccurring melody or harmony of daily motion that any place has...
The overlooked vibrations that all things make and their overtones of use...
It is this out of the box thinking that makes the very core of how we approach music as a whole. The way we hear it, listen to it, and learn it is a doorway to hearing life itself.
The better we Listen, the better we Connect, the better we Understand.
