A Surf & Sand Wedding šŸŒŠšŸ¤

Chris and Mark’s day was filled with beautiful blue and white details, lush florals, and the kind of coastal elegance that feels right at home by the ocean.

It was also HUMID. Humid enough that I had to let my lenses adjust to the air before I could really get to work, which immediately took me back to my days shooting weddings on the East Coast. There’s nothing quite like that moment when you walk outside and your camera is like, ā€œAbsolutely not. Give me a minute.ā€ šŸ˜‚

But honestly, the humidity couldn’t take away from how beautiful this day was. From the blue and white details to the lush florals and all those effortless coastal vibes, every part of the wedding felt intentional, timeless, and completely them.

A beautiful day at Surf & Sand, celebrating Chris and Mark!Ā

If you know me, then you know I don’t hide my facial expressions very well šŸ˜‚

I will say though, on wedding days I do a pretty good job of keeping a neutral face when I need to. BUT this guy really thought the best time to move equipment, which was directly behind my couple, was DURING THEIR VOWS.

READ. THE. ROOM. MY GUY. šŸ˜‚

Thank goodness for the ability to crop and Photoshop people out when needed though.

Happy Tuesday!

Cortney & Anthony šŸ¤

When I tell you guys I had the hardest time choosing just 20 images from their engagement session… I mean it! We had SO much fun together.

Cortney and Anthony were absolute troopers because even though we were on the coast, it was in the 90s and SO warm, to say the least. We were definitely starting to break a sweat when a huge, unexpected wave came crashing into us… and honestly, it cooled us off pretty quickly šŸ˜…

I can’t wait for their big day next year! If their wedding day is anything like their engagement session, I already know it’s going to be an amazing one.

Divorced parents on a wedding day…

This is honestly one of the questions I get the most. It doesn’t have to be stressful, you just need to plan for it. No need to have any awkward situations if we are able to prep for it.

Hope this helps someone who might be stressing over this specific part of their day. Family portraits are one of the most important parts of a wedding day but we also want to make it stress free!

Angela.

These bridal portraits from her wedding day took my breath away. She was an absolute vision.

Portraits like these happen when you give your timeline room to breathe. Having nowhere to rush off to and the space to simply be present on your wedding day is so incredibly special. I see the difference in how a wedding day feels for my couples when they have a relaxed timeline.

This is why I’m such a believer in building breathing room into a wedding timeline. The best portraits aren’t always the ones you squeeze into a 10 minute window. Sometimes, they happen when you have the time to slow down, wander, take it all in, and let the moment unfold naturally.

Having that said, Angela was THE moment! Stunning.

Having SO much fun with reception photos lately šŸŖ©šŸøāœØ

The chaos, the dancing, the drinks… I’m here for it all! feel like the reception is when I really get to see everyone’s personalities shine and let loose.

The formalities of the day are done, so I also get to relax and just vibe with my couple and I find myself enjoying it more and more recently!

Can’t wait for next one!

Four weeks šŸ¤

That’s how long Eliana and John had to plan their wedding day, and honestly, you would never know it.

With just 30 of their closest friends and family, wildflowers tucked throughout the day, vineyard views, and a candlelit dinner, their wedding at Altisima Winery was intimate in all the best ways.

No huge production. No packed guest list. Just two people getting married surrounded by the people they love most. I think that’s what I loved most about their day. It felt relaxed, intentional, and completely them.

Eliana + John, what a beautiful day to be a part of!

The seven circles. šŸ¤

One of my favorite moments during a Jewish wedding ceremony. Under the chuppah, the bride traditionally circles the groom seven times.

There’s so much meaning behind it. The number seven is connected to creation and completeness, and the circling is also said to create a protective, sacred space around the couple as they begin their life together.

I was just telling my husband a few days ago how I love watching the difference in traditions. I love when wedding traditions have this much meaning behind them. What may look like a simple moment is actually such a beautiful part of the ceremony and the beginning of their marriage.

Seven circles. One new beginning. ✨

P.S. Yes, I’m posting twice today. I was looking through this gallery and was touched by this moment.

35mm Film + Tiramisu šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹šŸŽžļøšŸ¤

I gasped when I got back my film scans from Larissa and ThĆ©o’s wedding day because I knew Larissa was going to LOVE them and I was so excited for her.

We shot 5 rolls of 35mm film for their big day and I’m obsessed with every frame!

Here’s the thing about weddings… there is so much to capture. Beautiful details, elegant portraits, epic drone shots that capture the ceremony site, the first kiss, bride and groom portraits, you name it.

The moments that matter most however? The REAL ones.

It’s what I find myself gravitating towards on wedding days because time and time again, those end up being the ones that my couples love the most. Do they still want their stunning details captured and beautiful portraits that are styled? Yes. But I often get a text after I deliver their gallery that says they loved being able to see the moments they had no idea even happened šŸ¤.

Obsessed with my job is an understatement. What a gift to capture once in a lifetime moments for my couples!

Having all that said, how cute is this!?! 🄹
