Just a little close to home birding last week with a friend!
Yellow-crowned night herons are one of my favorite birds to watch... beautiful colors and markings. Stealthy yet a little bit gawky! This guy was having a few crabs for supper!

m r ducks.... it quacks me up... how many girlie ducks are too many for a drake?
This Cinnamon Teal hit the jackpot - two in the water and one wading in!
He seemed pretty happy though!!

Had a chance encounter with a big bird today... back roads of Texas... cropped image. Whooping cranes are not the normal fair in SE Texas - so pretty happy with the image! Could not get a good shot of the leg markers, unfortunately.
