Han John Productions

Han John Productions I’m a SoCal event photographer that specializes in photographing authentic moments using aerial imagery. FAA Licensed sUAS Operator Hi!

My name is Han John and I am an artist, innovator, and outdoor enthusiast. My roots in photography began as a new member of Boy Scouts, where I had the opportunities to explore and capture the beauty of nature during camping trips. During high school, I was exposed to the cinematic world through the FilmEd Academy of the Arts, which I learned video production skills and storytelling. My mechanical

engineering background, aspirations to fly, and creative eye naturally led me towards building my own drone for aerial photography and filming. As a mechanical engineering student, building my own drone from scratch taught me the fundamentals of flying and enabled me to capture aerials shots I could only dream of before. It was the perfect combination of my three passions in engineering, photography/film, and aviation. A few years later for my masters project, I continued to improve upon my drone by introducing additional autonomous flight paths and a retractable arm that would grab high items out of reach. I continue to pursue my interests in aviation as design engineer at an aerospace engine company and by starting an aerial imagery side business. My ultimate goal within the next five years is to start a business that develops autonomous drones to replace tasks that are currently unsafe, slow, or expensive. A camera in its basic function may be a device used to take images, but it holds much more purpose than that to me. A camera is an invaluable tool to me, allowing me to capture life’s moments and share them with others. There is no better reward for a photography and filmmaker than seeing your work connect people, elicit smiles, and motivate people to take action toward a cause. Such positive outcomes continues to be the driving motivation for me to continue capturing life’s moments, whether on the ground or in the air, still or motion photography. Whether you need help photographing or filming or editing, I’ll be there to help make your life event a memorable one.

Day 37 – 53 milesRide Day 14 - Dodge City, Kansas to Garden City, KansasCycling Total 1100 miles Good to be riding again. Short day, no winds like the last ride day, cool temps and partly cloudy. Zoe decided to join the sun sleeves club and borrowed a pair from me. Smart choice, stylish and you don’t have to worry about ever getting sunburned or wearing sun lotion anymore....

Got my hand slapped for too much spacing between riders. Whenever I lead, I tend to be faster than others so I find myself ahead others. You are supposed to stick together so it’s easier for drivers to pass and also for communication between riders. The leaders told me that I have to sit in the van since this is third time they witness it....

William stayed up until midnight to create a trivia style quiz for town facts. It was fun and the facts did stick with me longer. The church offered to do laundry and mending but the word didn’t get through in time so we didn’t get the laundry out until dinner time. As a result laundry didn’t come back until this morning....

Even more grateful of the church because it was thunder, lightning, and raining this morning. Bike and Build has a policy that if there is thunder or lightning, you have to wait 30 minutes before riding. Finally around 9am the first group left. Kelsie and I were on van duty and drove straight to the host to offload gear since we were expecting to pick up riders due to the late start/possibility for more rain....

This morning we are helping Community Housing Association of Dodge City (CHAD) on the house painting. They were two properties and I went with the bigger group to work on a house in the immediate community of our church host. This is a older neighborhood and this home is actually told by the city to get a paint job because it was really bad peeling....
