Got word of a flare up this afternoon. And of course that meant? Going to see! Just for reference, I am standing roughly 25ish to 30 miles west of the plume of smoke. As for the planes, these are the ones doing the work! The big on furthest away just got back from another fire in Southern California, and is now back here waiting to be called up for the Lake Fire.

Just a few more pictures taken this morning with the new camera. That's right, went from Minolta and a more snap and shoot camera to a Canon EoS Rebel T100...so more of a "playing with the big kids" kind of camera now! It's fun learning all the fancy settings and on one hand, I don't feel good enough for that but on the other? I'm totally going to enjoy it none the less!!

Hi all! It has been a while since I last posted pictures! Sorry for that! However, back with some pictures of a local fire. Being called the "Lake Fire". While hoping it doesn't turn into a nasty beast, the pictures will be rather cool for a few days! Praying they get it out soon and no one is hurt or homes lost!

Took a little ride today to a lake that was a second home growing up. Camping trips to Lopez Lake were sometimes every month or at least a few times a year! Since we got quite a bit of rain this past winter, the lake has filled up wonderfully! It is at 96.8% capacity! Had to get pictures of this beautiful lake!

I normally, do not edit my photos. Not that I don't enjoy when other people edit theirs, but for me, I just don't. I do know how to use all the fancy programs but, anyway, I did today. I wanted to see what two specific pictures taken yesterday would look like played with a little bit. I posted the Originals and then, their filters. A little backstory on both the house and barn, my mom grew up playing in the barn, and staying in the house with her siblings. Their Uncle Otto and Aunt Sarah lived there, and my grandparents would bring the kids up to visit before the family moved up to the local area! So let me know what you think!! Original or one of the filters :)

So, I have always seen "macro" pictures. They are pretty amazing really. And so I thought, "Why not try it?" I did a little bit this morning, and I think I may be hooked. However I am thankful there was no spider looking up at me through the webs. At least I hope there wasnt!! Still learning the macro touch but, I'll get it!
