New year, new bio! 😎
Hey, there! Madison Lumbert, here. But most folks just call me Maddi!
Mad Shot Photography officially formed in 2021, and I’m stoked to say that it’s still going! The name “Mad Shot Photography” came from putting together a few puns (and if you know me, you know I can’t resist a cheesy play on words!)
“Mad” is a part of my name, but it also means “insane” or “extreme”. Don't worry, I just really wanted to stand out in peoples’ minds about my "crazy prices"! At one point in time, when I was living paycheck to paycheck, I was only able to save about $30 every few months for anything extra on top of bills. So you’ll see that my photo packages start at that same $30 mark. I think that everyone deserves to have nice photos, and sometimes the cost is the only thing that keeps us from being able to have them. Right now, I keep my prices in a lower range on purpose to eliminate that financial barrier ❤️
“Shot” is also a double-meaning! I wanted my photography services to not just be affordable, but also down-to-earth and comfortable for those on the other side of my lens. So “shot” refers to shots of photos (of course), but, it could also mean a measurement of espresso ☕ What’s more down-to-earth than coffee? (Seriously - it comes from seeds in the ground!) See if you can find my punny coffee-themed package names ☕😂
“Photography” - seems obvious, as this is a photography service, but the definition of photography is about “art formed by capturing light”. I feel like this was such beautiful symbolism for what I wanted to do: Illuminate seasons in peoples’ lives. Capture moments when people light up. Create art that people could reflect on for years and years and years. People tell me all the time, “I usually hate being photographed, but you made this so much fun! I actually really love these pictures of myself!” Nothing could be a bigger compliment or fuel me more to continue “capturing light”. And as luck would have it, that’s also what my last name “Lumbert” means: light! 💡
