This an orthomosaic map of the central area of UCF. The full size image is 30,000 pixels wide or almost 900 megapixels in size and is comprised of 160 separate images stitched together with software to create one extremely large and incredibly detailed photo. (The resolution of a newer iPhone camera is 48 megapixels.)

To create an ortho map a flight pattern is generated where the drone will fly a preplanned series of back and forth paths automatically shooting photos at intervals along the way.

This same photo could have been taken from a plane or helicopter at an atititude of several thousand feet but the images in this photo were taken at an altitude of 300 feet allowing for greater detail when zoomed in. It's not possible to view the actual image on Facebook but it gives you an idea.

Epic Universe looks a lot different than the last time I flew the drone there. Still some construction going on but mostly done. I'm planning on going back and getting a sunset/night shot when the place is lit up. There was a helicopter flying around at the same altitude I was so had to be careful.

I recently shot a lot of aerial photos and videos for a roofing company that had reroofed the Orlando Public Library. They're submitting the project for an award and wanted some artistic shots as well. Here's a couple of the twilight photos.

I took this drone shot last night in downtown Orlando for a client. The window of opportunity for sunset photos where the balance is just right between the light in the sky and the buildings is quite small so it's always exciting, but nerve wracking, making sure I'm in the right spot and getting the drone where I need it at the precise moment everything lines up.

This is a type of aerial photograph, taken with a drone, called an orthomosaic map, of Lake Eola in Orlando, Florida. The full size image is an ultra detailed 150 megapixels and is a stitched composite of 560 individual photos.

The area covered in this photo is 52 acres. I created the mission in DroneDeploy which was then uploaded to the controller. The fully automated flight took about 38 minutes to complete, flying a predetermined criss cross pattern. The 560 individual photos were later uploaded to DroneDeploy's server that used special software to stitch the images together into one large photo.

This photo is to create a record of what the area looks like now, before the new $60 million renovatiion project is started.
