✨ 40 Over 40 Spotlight: Christina ✨

One of the best parts of our 40 Over 40 Project is celebrating women who show us that confidence doesn’t come with an expiration date. Christina was an absolute joy to have in the studio, and we loved getting the chance to celebrate her and all that she brings to the world around her. Here’s her story ✨

“I am an auto-didact meaning I am self taught. Being a young single mother with 3 daughters didn’t allow me to finish college, but didn’t stop me from becoming a VP in the alternative investment industry. Although not having a degree did make it harder to climb the corporate ladder, I never gave up and just kept showing up and doing my very best job. It worked!”

When asked why she wanted to participate in the project, Christina gave us an answer we are obsessed with:

“I felt it was an honor to be recognized as someone over 40 but still slaying!” 😎

Christina, thank you for being part of this project and for sharing your story with us. We can’t wait for everyone to get to know you a little better through the story below. 💜

Let’s show Christina some love in the comments! 👇

One of the best parts of our Hometown Heroes Project is meeting people who make a difference in our community in their own unique way, and Aaron is definitely one of them. As a nurse, Aaron spends his days caring for others, but he also shares his experiences and insights online as a nurse immigrant, giving people a glimpse into both the challenges and victories that come with starting a new chapter. He is an amazing content creator and has an impressive following. Here's his story ✨

"When people come across me as Aaron from .the.rn, they often see the my nursing videos, relatable immigrant moments, and the exciting parts of my life now. But behind all of that is a journey built on sacrifice, uncertainty, and faith. I grew up in the Philippines with big dreams but without shortcuts, connections, or generational wealth. I worked hard through nursing school while trying to figure out how I could someday build a better future for myself and my family. My journey eventually took me from the Philippines to the UK during the height of COVID, where I worked as a nurse during one of the hardest times in healthcare. Later on, I moved again to the United States and had to rebuild my life from scratch once more—learning a new healthcare system, adjusting to a different culture, figuring out finances, driving, credit scores, and trying to find my place while carrying the pressure many immigrant nurses silently feel. Instead of hiding those struggles, I chose to share them honestly online, and that vulnerability became the reason so many people connected with my story.

What inspires me most is knowing that my journey has helped other nurses feel less alone. Through my content, I try to remind people that success is not always linear and that feeling lost sometimes does not mean you are failing. A lot of immigrant nurses compare themselves to others and feel behind in life, and I know that feeling deeply because I have lived it too. That is why I use my platform not just to entertain, but to educate, encourage, and uplift aspiring nurses who dream of working abroad. Whether I am simplifying the NCLEX process, talking about homesickness, sharing my experiences as a Filipino nurse immigrant, or simply reminding healthcare workers to take care of themselves too, my goal has always been to make people feel seen. I want others to look at my story and realize that even if the process is difficult, it is still possible to create a life you once only prayed for. I may have started as just one nurse sharing his experiences online, but today I know my story represents thousands of healthcare workers especially immigrants chasing opportunities, and hoping for a better life while dealing with the pressures of being in healthcare."🏨

-Aaron the RN

We loved having Aaron in the studio. He brought a great attitude, lots of positive energy, and made it easy to see why so many people connect with him both online and in real life. 😊

Aaron, thank you for allowing us to celebrate you and the impact you're making. We can't wait for everyone to get to know you a little better through your story 💜

Help us give Aaron a warm Hometown Heroes welcome in the comments! 👇

One of our favorite things about the 40 Over 40 Project is getting to meet incredible women who are making a difference in the lives of others every single day, and Chris is certainly one of them✨

With years of experience helping people navigate some of life’s toughest challenges, Chris brings compassion and a whole lot of heart to everything she does. We loved having her in the studio and getting the chance to celebrate her for a change🌸

“I grew up in a very chaotic home and never felt anchored in anything. In 2005 I started working in a jail as a clerk, and felt like I had found a sense of purpose. I developed discipline and a firm foundation for myself that propelled me to want to further what I could do to help people. After a decade of that work, I decided that I wanted to get to the root of why people came to jail and to help them stop coming to jail. I started my Master’s program in mental health counseling and used my skills in the jail as well as in homeless shelters, community mental health facilities and prison to help individuals get to the root of their issues- addiction, broken family environments, bad relationships, etc- and walk them through their challenging times by giving them the skills they needed to stop being destructive in their lives. One of the toughest lessons I’ve learned is that not everyone is ready for help. It’s easy for someone to observe another’s life and think you know what would be best for them, but unless they want help and are ready for change, there is nothing you can do that will make them change. I’ve seen a lot of people from jail get well, only to relapse when they are released. They come back to jail and we start the process over again, and it can be challenging to watch this person with so much potential not have the ability or sometimes the desire to want a better life. Addiction is hard. I started a private practice in 2022 where I see clients on a daily basis in addition to my duties in the jail. I love my clients- they inspire me, and I learn things from them every single day. I hope I am able to continue on my path for many decades to come!!”

Thank you for sharing your world with us Chris🩷

Our Hometown Heroes Project is all about celebrating… well, our hometown heroes! People who do everyday things to make our community a better place, and sometimes we take it all for granted. That’s why this project is so important to us – let’s meet our heroes!

Here’s Sarah’s story 🙌

“I’ve always been someone who genuinely loves taking care of people, and I feel really lucky that my career has allowed me to do that in so many different ways. Most people know me now as an aesthetic nurse practitioner, but my primary role is actually providing wound care to patients in local nursing homes throughout our community. I care for patients with complex wounds, and while it can be emotionally challenging at times, it’s also one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Many of my patients are elderly and vulnerable, and I take a lot of pride in being someone they can trust and feel comfortable with. Sometimes it’s not just about treating a wound — it’s about sitting with someone, listening to them, and helping them feel seen and cared for during a difficult time in their life. Being able to give back to my community in that way means a lot to me, especially because this is the community I grew up in.

Outside of wound care, I’ve built a concierge aesthetics business here on the Space Coast where I provide skincare and aesthetic treatments in the comfort of my patients’ homes. I know wound care and aesthetics sound like complete opposites, but to me they really aren’t. Both are about helping people feel better about themselves and improving quality of life in different ways. I love educating patients, building relationships, and helping people feel more confident — whether that’s through healing their skin, helping them feel comfortable in their own skin again, or simply making them feel cared for. I’m also really proud of the fact that I’ve built everything while balancing leadership roles, motherhood, and entrepreneurship. At the end of the day, I just want to make a positive impact on the people around me and continue serving the community that has given so much to me over the years”

Sarah thank you for being so amazing and showing up for your community ✨🩷

I’m so happy to be invited to for their Hometown Heroes Album, especially during Nurses Week this month of May 🙌

It was such a fun experience getting to be part of a professional photoshoot and I’m honestly excited to see how everything it turns out.

For this shoot, I decided to wear my usual  — the Helix 1-Pocket Navy Scrub Top and Intake Navy Scrub Pants, which honestly felt perfect for the vibe of the shoot.

What I love about is that they’re built like performance wear:
✔️ 4-way stretch
✔️ Breathable fabric so you’re not overheating mid-shift
✔️ Water-repellent
✔️ Plus they come in fun and amazing colors

And if you sign up as a VIP, you can get:
✨ $15 for a scrub set
✨ $19 built-in bra tops
✨ 50% off everything else

Link is in my bio.
Stay tuned to see how the photos turn out!

✨ CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Carolyn White ✨

There are some women whose presence speaks for itself. Elegant, resilient, and quietly extraordinary. Carolyn White is undeniably one of them.

As part of our Hometown Hero’s Project, we had the privilege of welcoming Carolyn into the studio to honor not only her story, but the strength and grace that have shaped it. A retired professional and breast cancer survivor, Carolyn embodies the kind of resilience that cannot be taught, the kind that comes from facing life’s hardest moments with courage, dignity, and heart.

Spending time with Carolyn was a reminder that true beauty deepens with experience. There is something incredibly powerful about a woman who has walked through difficult seasons and still chooses joy, laughter, softness, and strength all at once.

And while retirement may mean leaving the workforce behind, Carolyn clearly did not retire from inspiring everyone around her. 💫 Here's her story!

"When I got Breast Cancer for the first time back in 2013, I had no idea what to do, where to go, what was next, or how to find the right oncologist. I was told what was going to be done, where to go, and how my cancer was going to be treated. At the time, I simply followed directions because I was overwhelmed, frightened, and trying my best to survive one day at a time. Once I finished radiation, surgery, and medication after medication, I realized that surviving cancer was not only about what happened in the doctor’s office. It was also about what happened afterward—how to live with the fear, the scars, the exhaustion, and the quiet questions that never seemed to leave your mind. That is when I decided to start a group in Florida called The Florida Pinks. I reserved rooms at a resort, and about 35 breast cancer survivors came for some rest and relaxation. To this day, we still meet on a yearly basis, and those of us who gather have found that just talking, laughing, crying, and even screaming helps us all deal with this disease. We have become more than a group. We have become a kind of family built from pain, courage, honesty, and understanding. In that space, no one has to explain what it feels like to hear the word cancer. We already know. We carry that knowledge together, and somehow that makes it lighter. I got Breast Cancer again in 2018, and this time I was better prepared about what and how I was going to handle having a mastectomy. The second diagnosis was no less heartbreaking, but I was different. I had learned that my voice mattered. I had learned that I could ask questions, seek support, and make choices for myself. Going through chemo, I had someone go with me each time, and I had people asking to sit with me during my 3–4-hour chemo sessions. When I walked into the room to start my chemo, I always arrived with a smile to show others that life was not over and that we could all get through this together. That smile did not mean I was never afraid. It meant I refused to let fear have the final word. Cancer changed my body, but it also changed my heart. It taught me that strength does not always look bold or dramatic. Sometimes strength shows up when you are tired. Sometimes it is saying yes to help. Sometimes it is sitting quietly with another survivor and letting them know they are not alone. Looking back now, I can see that my story is not only about cancer. It is about resilience, friendship, faith, and learning to find joy in the middle of uncertainty. I did not choose this journey, but I chose how I would walk through it. I chose to keep loving, keep laughing, keep gathering with others, and keep believing there was still beauty ahead of me. Cancer has been a chapter in my life, but it has never been the whole story. My memoir is one of survival, yes, but even more than that, it is a story of living. And as long as I am here, I will keep telling others the same thing I have learned for myself: we are stronger than we think, and even in the hardest seasons, hope still has a place to grow."

- Carolyn

It was an honor to capture this chapter of her life and celebrate the remarkable woman she is today. Stories like Carolyn’s are exactly why this project means so much to us, because every woman deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered for the life she has lived and the battles she has overcome.

Please join us in showing Carolyn some love in the comments below. 💕
