Claire Closson Photography Welcome friends! I believe beauty is everywhere. I’m Claire, a photographer and storyteller, translating the quiet wonder of the world into images that speak.

My work is a collection of stories meant to help us pause, feel, and treasure what is fleeting. I am a photographer and visual artist who specializes in travel, lifestyle and nature photography.

Every sunset tells a different story.

In the stillness of the marsh, "Echoes Across the Marshlands" was born—soft reflections and quiet light.

Then came the bold colors of "Magnificent Mt. Dora Sunset", painted across the sky like a celebration.

And finally, "When Heaven Touches Earth"—a moment where light and landscape felt divine.

These are a few of my latest fine art images.

Drop a ❤️ on the one that speaks to you most—or tell me why in the comments. I love hearing how others see the same sky differently. 🔥🌿✨💕

There’s something magical about this time of year.

I took this photo from our daughter’s back deck—it already looked like a painting, but with a few subtle edits (deeper colors, lifted shadows, and an oil-textured finish), I tried to capture what it felt like to be there!

What season speaks to your soul and why? 🍂✨

“Road Less Traveled" Image captured in Smyrna, GA

Every photo has a story—some captured in-camera, some revealed in editing. Swipe to see the transformation! 🌅📸

I capture 99% of images in RAW format, which keeps all of the image data but isn't colorful and needs to be edited.

The first image is straight out of camera and the second image is after careful editing. My typical editing software is Adobe Lightroom Classic, Topaz Denoise, Luminar Neo and Adobe Photoshop. Each step adds a little more magic!

“Walking a Tightrope" Image captured at Black Point Wildlife Drive, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

Meet the Green Heron! Did you know that Green Herons are among the few bird species worldwide that use tools, placing various items into the water to lure unsuspecting fish to the surface? Those lures include small twigs, feathers, insects, bread crusts, and berries. 🐾 Nature never stops surprising me!”

Art has a way of connecting us—and I’m so honored to share that three of my nature photographs will be featured in “She Who Tells a Story: An Exhibit of Florida Women Photographers”, celebrating Florida women photographers from all over the state.

With 64 artists and 121 works of art, this show is going to be such an inspiring one! The exhibit is being held at the Highland Art League Gallery at 1971 Lakeview Drive, Sebring, FL from Sept. 21 through Oct. 31, with an opening reception on Sept. 21 from 3–5pm.

If you’re looking for a fun day trip, come see the reception and/or exhibit, explore Sebring’s sweet little downtown, and support incredible Florida artists!

Here are some more photos from my last trip to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive in June. As I mentioned in another post, it's gosh awful hot in Florida in the summer. Many birds and wildlife either migrate to cooler climates in summer or get up early to beat the heat and to fill their tummies. So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover so many "friends" out and about when I arrived at 9:45 a.m. (not early for wildlife photography).

I hope you enjoy the pics!

My gear: Sony A7IV mirrorless camera, Sony 200mm-600mm super-telephoto lens, Tamron 28mm-200mm zoom lens, Promaster GH30C Gimbal tripod head, old well-used tripod

Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive 12-6-2020. Debb Walker Banks and I were supposed to be photographing the sunset. We didn't see the vivid technicolor sunset we were hoping for, but the clouds created amazing patterns and we had a touch of color to our west as the sun set. So tranquil.
