When you’re the one in labor, there is so much you cannot see. Birth photography gives you the chance to return to that day and witness the love surrounding you while you did the hardest, most extraordinary thing.

Some births just feel like love.

Not in some grand, cinematic way. In the way everyone looks at each other. The hands that keep reaching for one another. The laughter between contractions. The way a whole room seems to soften when a baby finally arrives.

Leonardo’s birth was one of those.

There was so much love in this room, you could feel it. And getting to preserve even a little piece of what it felt like to be there is exactly why I love making birth films.
