There’s something so special about capturing a newborn in the comfort of their own home. ❤️

I recently had the sweetest in-home newborn session in Winter Haven, Florida, and this little one was an absolute dream! Baby slept peacefully through the entire session, allowing us to create such a beautiful variety of images.

I’m truly so proud of the final gallery, but what makes me even happier is knowing how much the parents love their photos too. 🥹

And now, these precious memories are getting ready to become something even more special—beautiful wall art for their home, where they can enjoy this tiny, fleeting stage of their baby’s life every single day.

This is exactly why I love what I do. These babies grow and change so quickly, but photographs allow us to hold onto these moments forever.

✨ One of my favorite ways to document a baby's first year is through monthly milestone photos!

Babies change so much during their first year, and it's amazing how quickly those tiny newborn features transform into smiles, giggles, crawling adventures, and first steps. Every month brings something new worth remembering. 🤍

As a photographer—and now a very proud grandma—I recently started this journey with my granddaughter. For her first monthly milestone photo, my daughter and son-in-law came up with such a fun idea: creating a simple white backdrop and using a different theme each month.
For Month One, they chose a theme inspired by Figment, the playful purple dragon from EPCOT. 💜🐉
I absolutely loved this idea because it keeps the photos consistent while making each month unique and fun. I can't wait to see what themes they come up with next!

📸 Tips for creating monthly milestone photos at home:
✨ Use the same location every month so you can easily see your baby's growth.
✨ Choose a space with plenty of natural light.
✨ Keep the background simple and uncluttered.
✨ Include a monthly milestone marker, letter board, or wooden number.
✨ Use the same stuffed animal, blanket, or chair each month to show size changes.
✨ Try to photograph your baby from a similar angle each time.
✨ Don't worry about perfection—the little expressions and personality are what you'll treasure most years from now.

❤️ One of My Most Requested Newborn Props ❤️

If you've ever browsed through my newborn galleries, you've probably noticed one prop appearing again and again—the wooden heart.
And honestly, I completely understand why parents love it so much... because it's one of my favorites too.
There is something incredibly special about seeing a tiny newborn safely curled up inside a heart. As a mother and grandmother, every time I create one of these images, I can't help but think about what it represents: your baby, resting inside your heart. ❤️

Over the years, I've realized just how much families love this setup, so I've added several variations to my collection. We can create different looks using:
✨ Dark wooden heart
✨ White wooden heart
✨ Heart surrounded by beautiful flowers
✨ Soft blankets that hide the wood and leave only the heart shape visible
✨ Different wraps, layers, colors, and styling options

A Heart Full of Love 🤍

When I started planning this newborn session for my granddaughter Lillian, the only thing that kept coming to my mind was: I want to try to show in images what I feel in my heart.

I know that feelings like this can never truly be captured, but I wanted to use art to express the love I carry for her.

The very first image that came to my mind was how deeply I love her, and how deeply she has lived inside my heart since the very first time I saw her on the ultrasound. And now… here she is. 🤍

It’s hard to put into words, but this was my way of turning that feeling into art — placing this precious little girl inside a pure heart, filled with love, tenderness, and emotion.

A love that already existed long before I could finally hold her in my arms. ✨

Sweet Lillian, you are so deeply loved already. 🤍

Photographing my own daughter as she waits for my granddaughter has been such a meaningful experience. It’s a moment filled with love, anticipation, and the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

Outdoor sessions have always been close to my heart — the natural light, the calm atmosphere, the way everything feels so genuine and effortless 🌿 This session, though, had an even deeper meaning behind every image.

Watching our family grow and knowing a new little life is about to join us is something so incredibly special 💕
